List of Er Of Fort Worth- Emergency Room's Reviews
Unfortunately, I’m taking back 3 stars due to the way I was spoken to over the phone by a doctor at this ER while experiencing an adverse reaction to a medication I had been prescribed there for an infection. When a patient calls and tells you they are experiencing a concerning reaction to a prescribed medication, they should be met with some degree of concern, reassurance, and guidance. They should not be made to feel as though they are simply overreacting or imagining what they are experiencing. After taking one of the medications, I experienced involuntary muscle movements and extreme anxiety that persisted for more than 16 hours. During the phone call, I explained what I was experiencing and also explained that I was particularly concerned because I had specifically told the original doctor that I am sensitive to medications that affect my nervous system. Instead of focusing on what I was actually experiencing and helping me determine what I should do, the doctor seemed far more focused on my frustration about having been prescribed the medication in the first place. Yes, I was upset. I was questioning why I had been prescribed a medication with known neuropsychiatric warnings after specifically telling the doctor that I am sensitive to medications that affect my nervous system in the first place. That concern was completely reasonable. But being upset about the medication does NOT mean my symptoms should be dismissed or treated as though they are simply the result of anxiety or overreaction. The entire time I was explaining what was happening, the doctor responded in an incredibly dismissive, unconcerned tone with things like, “Wow, oh yeah? Oh really?” He then told me that the boxed warning was essentially just “legalese.” That was particularly disturbing to hear. Those warnings exist for a reason. I wasn’t calling to argue about pharmaceutical labeling. I was calling because I was experiencing symptoms that I was concerned could be related to a medication I had been prescribed. When I pushed back, his response was essentially, “Well, you can come back in and we can check you if you want.” I’m sorry, but when someone tells you they are experiencing involuntary muscle movements and extreme anxiety that has lasted more than 16 hours, that should not be the extent of the guidance you provide. I needed to know what I should do, what I should watch for, and whether what I was experiencing warranted further evaluation. I needed to feel like the person on the other end of the phone was actually listening to me. If the situation were reversed, I’m sure you would want the person caring for you to take your concerns seriously, too. I want to be clear that I still stand by my original 5-star review of the doctor and staff who treated me during my initial visit, (Ryan, Karen and Dr. Potla) . My experience with them was completely different. Unfortunately, the interaction I had with the doctor I spoke with by phone this afternoon changed my overall impression of this facility. Being a doctor does not give anyone a license to speak to patients in a condescending or dismissive manner. Patients can be upset, frightened, frustrated, or confused while still deserving to be listened to and treated with respect. My 30-year-old son was sitting next to me throughout the entire conversation on speakerphone. After I hung up, his immediate response was, “Well, he doesn’t give a s**t now, does he?” That pretty much summed up the interaction. I'm still sitting here going through something very unpleasant. I DO NOT feel right. And now I'm expected to go back to a place that just treated me like some loser because I dared to question or read the warnings on a drug I was given?? Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this ER in the future. If I ever find myself in a situation where I’m choosing between coming back here and taking my chances somewhere else, I’ll choose somewhere else. Now calling me "after-the-fact" asking me if I'm okay just seems like damage control more than any genuine or sincere concern.
Staff was amazing! Front desk Kendal was super kind and helpful explaining insurance. The Nurse Gwen was fantastic.
Staff were amazing and so sweet! I was seen very quickly with the help of Kendall and Gwen! Facility is clean and professional would definitely come back.
They are the absolute SLOWEST Emergency Care in DFW. Highly I do not recommend 👎👎
Really great experience here. We got in quickly, and everyone was very accommodating and thorough. I really appreciated how they listened to my concerns, especially with medications, without being judgmental or pushy. They offered different options and worked with me on a plan of care. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better ER experience.
I've been here once before when I brought my dad in and the staff was fast and attentive. I came in for respiratory issues and the staff was fast got me hooked up with some IV meds which started my relief. I would absolutely come back but hopefully I don't have to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
