I have struggled with really bothersome floaters for the last three years or so. I think they were a result of a PVD in both eyes. My right eye in particular was very disturbing because all the floaters were sticking together into a big moving blob right in the middle of my vision. Sports that I loved to do I was avoiding surfing, skiing, it was really depressing. Working on a computer was equally frustrating, I would change the screen to black background with white letters to try and avoid them.
I tried the YAG laser route with another local doctor and if anything, the floaters were worse than before. After hours of research and talking to a lot of people, I finally found Dr. Sebag. Not only is he the best at understanding the vitreous (he wrote the book on it) but he is doing the necessary research to show what kind of an impact floaters have in people's lives, and has pioneered the procedure to remove them with limited risk.
The procedure took 7 minutes, required no sutures, and I felt little to no pain. I was 90% recovered in a week, with 20/40 vision the next day, 20/20 after a month without correction. My prescription actually got BETTER and I no longer need glasses. I truly believe that Dr. Sebag is changing the world of medicine and how they approach floaters. Don't listen to ophthalmologists who say nothing can be done. Something can be done and it's a lot less scary than you think.
I am now floater free in my right eye. It's miraculous! I will do my left eye later this year and am excited to get back out on the slopes without all that crap floating in front of my vision. There is only one surgeon in the world I would trust with this procedure. Dr. Sebag.
You do not have to live with this affliction. For some people they aren't. Bothersome. You already know if you are one of those people.
