I waited 10 months to write this review. I wish I could write a glowing review, but we did not have an overall positive experience. Here’s my story:We engaged Cooperative to care for my 87-year-old mother. Some of her caregivers did a great job. Those that didn’t, however, are memorable because of how bad they were. One woman fell asleep underneath an ironing board (yes an ironing board). Another was a con artist. This woman began to ask my mother for money; when I discovered this, I informed Cooperative. They continued to send her into my mother’s home with this knowledge. Several months later, the woman stopped showing up for work. She was suddenly missing—and so was substantial amount of money. Neither the police nor Cooperative appear to have been able to track this woman down. Worse, though this theft happened over 10 months ago, Cooperative has not repaid a dime of this money to my mother, even though its management has admitted responsibility for their former worker’s actions. All I hear from management is they’re waiting for “insurance.” I will probably have to take the matter to court to get my mother reimbursed.I would only recommend using Cooperative if you have no other options. There have to be better places for vulnerable clients to receive care. Some of their caregivers do a fine job. Those who do not can be beyond the pale. Cooperative appears to lack consistent oversight of its employees. I hope management reads this. You can and should do better for your clients and their families.
