She was dismissive of my pain, concerns and questions during my pregnancy and also my labor and delivery. Thankful for the nurses in the room, who made me feel a bit more supported and motivated than her.
Dr. La Joie is the kindest, most compassionate doctor I've ever had. Downtown Women is a very busy office given their popularity, but Dr. La Joie always takes the time to both answer my questions and connect with me personally. LOVE LOVE this practice.
I would not recommend this provider. She is competent, but I found her to be condescending and she was not attentive to my birth plan during my delivery.
She was careless, treated her nurse poorly, tried to perform a very painful IUD insertion with very little concern for my comfort, when I couldn't take the pain she made me feel terrible. Stormed out of room. Still charged me for unused device (never was out of wrapper. she was just trying to use the sound when we stopped the procedure, nothing had been unwrapped yet. Never again will I return to her office.
Not friendly and warm like the rest of the doctors in that practice. Downtown Womens is very efficient with their time and most of the staff is very friendly. But Doctor Lajoie did not make me feel confortable during both encounters I have had with her. Another patient of the practice has also expressed she prefers other doctors over her.
