Dr. Neubardt and his entire staff are beyond excellent. From my initial phone call for a consultation appointment to post operative follow up. The entire staff exhibited courteousness, professionalism beyond measure. They are caring, helpful, concerned and very thorough!! Emails are responded to, voicemail call messages are returned, questions and concerns are addressed immediately. Dr. Neubardt is a skilled professional. I am happy to say and want to thank him for a successful procedure. My entire experience was great. Thank you Dr. Neubardt and his entire staff at Brain and Spine Surgeons of NY.

Fantastic surgeon. Informs you of the procedure step by step, answers any questions you may have & stitches like a plastic surgeon. I had a tattoo where the point of entry was & you can't even tell. Office staff are fantastic. If I needed surgery again, he's the one I would go to.
After suffering with a herniated disc for about 5 years, numbness and tingling in my fingers and off balance in my legs I paid a visit to Dr. Neubart and his team. He was recommended to me by my ENT and im glad I listened. I had done all the PT, taken all the meds, and seen other doctors who did not fully understand my situation. Dr. Neubart discussed my cervical stenosis and reviewed my MRI in depth with me. He has a warm and welcoming demeanor but he was also honest. While he normally suggests survey as elective, I was a case that it was needed and long overdue. He told me the risks I had heard before (paralysis) but never really knew how serious my case was. He didnt even want me to wait more than 1 week to have the ACDF surgery, he assured me in 3 weeks I would be able to lift boxes and move myself out of my apartment. Which was a concern of mine. Booked the surgery with his admin Allison who is AMAZING!! She spent time going over any concerns I had and put my mind at ease. A week later I was out of surgery and the moment I woke up all the numbness and tingling in my hands was gone and has not come back. The off balance feeling I constantly had subsided in the coming weeks. I honestly had been suffering for so long I didnt know I could feel this good. 2 and 1/2 months later and i am healing great, able to work and go back to regular activities with little to no pain. I HIGHLY reccommend him and his team, so much that my brother is now going to him for a similar surgery. They are all wonderful and do not make you feel like just a number.
Dr Neubardt is wonderful but avoid his Physician Assistant, Lindsay at all costs. Meds weren't helping to control my pain after surgery. After 15 hours, I actually had to call Dr Neubardt's on call line to speak with him to get stronger meds. Once i spoke with him directly, I had stronger pain meds in 10 minutes. Lindsay failed her one job.
It has been seven years since my fusion. I was the perfect storm I had everything wrong. I am writing this because every day I go to the gym, walk my dog, ride my bike, plant flowers I thank god for Dr. Neubardt and Dr. Stern for giving me my life back. I just can’t believe how well I am doing 7 years years later. They are talented, special, caring, smart and honest. For me it has been a miracle,.
Our family has been to many orthopedists and Dr. Neubardt, hands down, is the best doctor we've ever been too.
I had fusion of L3 / L4 3 weeks ago and could not be happier. I was thoroughly educated about the procedure and what to expect. I’ve been up and about since day one walking and most importantly no more piercing pain.
Want to be pain free? Want a doctor that will actually care and listen to you? Stop! You have found him. Look no more! I have been suffering w/ lower back pain for 7/8 yrs. Each Dr in my area I went to looked @ me & like a recording "You need to lose weight" They did not even do any tests, just saw an obese woman & that has to be the problem. I knew that wasn't the issue because I lost weight and took strengthening classes for a year and the pain was still there. The pain grew increasingly daily worse & was not subsiding recently. To the point where I couldn't sleep, couldn't eat, forget sitting or sleeping in my bed. I laid on the floor or walked pacing. I told my PCP I wanted an MRI done. Given narcotics and muscle relaxers, Advil. Tizanidine, Metronidazole, Flexeril, Diazepam, etc...nothing touched that pain! Right lower back, into my leg, down to my foot. Fast forward a few days the pain was insane, and after going to Westchester Hospital, they referred me to this group. Googled Dr Neubardt & loved the reviews! I am SO glad I did. I drove an hour to Dr. Neubardt's office. WOW! To sum it all up in one word. He made me feel like a human, listened to everything I had to say, never did I feel rushed. He did not once mention my weight as the issue! He took the time to exam me, went above & beyond to make sure surgery was the right route (Because I said "I want surgery, make this pain stop.") He ordered a few more tests to be sure. I brought all my medication with me and he went through it all. Showing me what to take, what not to take. Prescribed methylprednisolone - which was amazing. I could actually sleep & function. His Surgical Coordinator Alison, just as amazing! What a team they make! She was on top of everything. Every office needs an Alison! Within 1 week all my tests were done/in, my surgery prayers were answered. I had a lumbar microdiscectomy on L4/L5. Surgery was at White Plains Hospital. I will never use a hospital in my area again! That hospital is amazing! No wonder why Dr Neubardt and Dr Stern associate with them! When I was wheeled into surgery Dr. Stern & Dr. Neubardt were just so kind. Laughed @ my stupid nervous jokes, were kind assuring me it will be OK, just made the situation less nerve-racking. They introduced me to everyone & each person explained who they were and what was going to happen. Again amazing team! I woke up, pain free! Finally, someone took me seriously. I actually cried with joy. I cannot thank this team enough. I had complications w/ my breathing and had to stay at the hospital for the week (nothing to do w/ my surgery) Alison called me every day AND Dr Neubardt called me to see how I was doing! Alison even gave me her cell phone number and told me to call her if I had any questions, issues while at the hospital, she was so kind-hearted! What doctor's office does that? Dr. Neubardt and Dr Stern are my heroes. They put on their white capes and saved my day. I cannot thank them enough. I have my life back. I can assure you, Dr Neubardt and Dr Stern will be the answer to your questions. I traveled 75 minutes one way, paid the Tapan Zee Bridge $4.75 toll, I have BCBS PPO and he is out of my network. All things I was scratching my head about. I will never use another ortho surgeon in my area ever again. Worth every penny! Best decision I ever made.

I've had neck surgery in June 2020 by doctor's Neubardt and Stern that went very well for me. I had spinal compression which was starting to affect my leg. The doctors performed a laminectomy with fusion. I have found the doctors to be personable, took plenty of time with me & carefully listened and responded to my many questions. There support staff & Allison is second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Neubardt and Dr. Stern.
If you have scoliosis and fuse a vertebrae in ones neck it can seriously impact kyphosis and cause flat back. The docs never discussed this plus my body reacted to the manufactured disc used for replacement. Essentially, rejecting it and my immune system went crazy. Try alternatives such as decompression and muscle strengthening before touching your spine. Wish I hadn’t had the surgery...and had looked at alternatives.
Excellent. The entire staff, doctors and staff are very helpful with every detail leading up to my surgery. They help you with your pre-op, testing, and surgical procedure. Dr. Neubardt reviews what exactly the procedure entails and what to expect after surgery. I had a C5C6 disc replacement and I am very pleased with the outcome. I would highly recommend Brain and Spinal Surgeons of New York!
In Augest of 2019 I had a disc sitting on my nerve giving me all sorts of pain numbness in my right leg. I was recommended by a family member who had used Dr Neubarft years ago with great success. So I went up to see him. He told me that surgery would be the only way to fix this. I took what he said and scheduled surgery a week later. It's been six months and though I'm not 100% i have no more pain in my leg. The numbness comes a goes . I'm hoping it just needs more time to heal. Anyway I give Dr Neubardt and Dr Stern 5 stars for my surgery. They made me feel confident that they were going to fix this and they did. Thankyou both.
A terrible spine surgeon in my opinion. The next surgeon I had to use had NEVER seen such poor quality and 'ugly' surgery!!! He took 45 minutes and the surgery failed before he even go paid by insurance. Unethical, and really bad experience!!!!!!!!
I've had 4 spine surgeries with doctor's Neubardt and Stern and could not be happier with the results. I live 4 hours away and would not trust any other doctor's with my spine. My wife was so impressed with my results she didn't hesitate when she needed surgery to have doctor Neubardt and Stern operate on her. They truly are the best.
I experienced severe bilateral leg pain for 11/2 years. Upon standing in the morning, I would have to lean on furniture to take the weight off my legs. The pain was unbearable. Early morning was difficult. After being out of bed awhile, the pain would begin to subside and I could function normally. I went to see orthopedics, rheumatology, vascular and my primary doctor with no diagnosis or resolution to my problem. As my leg pain continued and became worse, I went on line to search for a doctor. I found the website for Dr. Neubardt, was impressed by what I read and decided to go for a consultation. I also liked that he partnered with a neurologist ( Dr. Jack Stern) and had operated over 20 years. My initial visit went well.I liked Dr. Neubardt instantly and knew this is where I was meant to be. He was kind, respectful and straight forward. I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis, grade ll, L4-L5. I had surgery on May 22 ( laminectomy with fusion). My leg pain is completely gone and I am on the journey to becoming healthy and whole again. I am very thankful for this positive and wonderful outcome. Thank you Dr Neubardt.
I traveled 200 miles one way to see DR Neubardt and Stern for a back fusion. I did a lot of research and I what made a really huge impression on me was the DR’s medical assistants. Especially Alison and Juliet! After my surgery DR Neubardt was always available to answer EVERY question. Never waited more than 5 min for A return call Never rushed me ! ican honestly say he is an excellent DR and such a kind man. Always listened Combination that is very hard to find, Thank You Donna Nichols GF N
I've had neck surgery in September of 2015 by doctor's Neubardt and Stern that went very well for me. Due to my deteriorating disc disease, I needed another surgery on my neck and I didn't hesitate to go back to them. It's been one week ago today since my second surgery and I'm in less pain than I can remember. Since surgery, I've had calls checking on me from the hospital, Allison from doctor Neubardt office and on Sunday afternoon from doctor Neubardt. These doctor's are 2nd to none.
I highly recommend Dr. Neubardt. He is a brillant, professional, sincere, compassionate doctor. I had surgery for a herniated disc and fragment adhered to a nerve. The pain was unbearable. I opened my eyes after surgery pain free. I am so thankful that I can resume an active life.
