Dr Steven Beldner is an A+1 doctor for injuries/concerns from the elbow to the hand. I first saw Dr Beldner about 18 years ago for tendone surgery to my left wrist from an injury. My wrist hasn't bothered me since. My nephew at four years old was also operated in his pinky finger from a door that crushed it. He is 20 now and you can't tell anything happened. I've had other injuries(elbow, wrist, fingers) and Dr Beldner has always been right on money with his assessment and plan for recovery. Extremely satisfied. Haphazardly, I was referred to him by another doctor four years ago for the elbow injury because that doctor wanted a more experienced diagnosis. I'd recommend Dr Beldner to anyone.
I started off the summer off by tearing my bicep tendon. This was the first time I have ever looked at an injury and knew that it would need to be operated on.Doctor Beldner was very straight forward with me, and explained the procedure, the recovery process, and the potential complications that could occur. I had my surgery on the 18th of June, 2020. Today is September 8th, 2020. I have my arm back. I have strictly followed his post operative instructions, and I am now pretty close to being 100% healed. I still take it easy with the arm, but I am now in the re-strengthening phase of recovery.I’m glad I went to Doctor Beldner for this procedure. And his office is pleasant to deal with. Everyone there is professional and top notch. Thank you all.
Excellent surgeon. Saved my hand two years ago. Then, over this summer, I developed a tennis elbow syndrome, as I thought, after an intense physical therapy. He did then a steroid injection, and it helped for a while. In three months, again, my hand started aching, and I asked for another steroid injection. He gave it to me, but wasn’t happy that I didn’t continue with a physical therapy. I said it hurts, but he didn’t believe me, and mentioned my law case, thinking, maybe, that I’m “collecting “ my complaints for a case, which is, yes, a common practice. But not mine. He did take care of me, still the aftertaste that I left his office with, prompted me to seek a second opinion. I have a high deductible insurance, and for everything pay out of pocket on a dot. Yet, regardless of insurance, there should be a certain degree of trust between a patient and a physician. Without it, there is no rapport.
I'm a professional guitarist. I took a fall the Monday before Thanksgiving 2019. I was fortunate to find Dr. Beldner. I was able to schedule an appointment right after the holiday he did the surgery the next day. The office and surgical staff showed great compassion and efficiency. Dr. B. did a great job with the procedure and all follow ups. I don't believe I could have gotten any better care anywhere in the world. So grateful to be back playing again at full function!!
Over Labor Day weekend 2018 I sustained a horrific fall in which I badly broke my lower right ulna and radius. When I asked several people, independently, who had experienced similar accidents who the “go to” hand surgeon in NYC is, they all had the same answer — Dr. Steven Beldner and his partner.Dr. B. did not disappoint. He is a thorough and exacting clinician who delivers superior results. He also manages expectations realistically — after telling me I could need three surgeries, he did it all in one to set the bone with a titanium plate.During my eight months of occupational therapy — which has now restored my typing, writing, and guitar playing to functioning levels — I saw Dr. B. every few months. He was always a great mix of matter-of-fact and encouraging. He consistently acknowledged my progress — which was slow but steady — while spurring me on to greater performance. In spite of the high standards he obviously sets for himself, I always had the sense that he sincerely cared about my unique situation, and that my needs were his top priority.I am very grateful to Dr. Beldner, his PA Jeff, and the entire support staff at NY Hand & Wrist Center for the terrific care I received from them. I have recommended them to several other people — as it seems that serious hand accidents are pretty common.
I have Scleroderma for over 15 years now and I cannot thank Dr. Beldner and his staff for all they did to make my hand functional again. I waited quite a while to get this done because I heard that hand surgery was painful and could take several operations. Dr. Beldner was so knowledgeable about Scleroderma, and his team was not only nice, but so exceptional that I cannot wait to do my other hand. My only regret was that I didn't come to him sooner! What a huge improvement to my quality of life. You have no idea how wonderful it is to use my hand again and not be in pain constantly. I truly cannot say enough about everyone at Northwell. Wish I wasn't so scared and came here sooner. Other hand in February 2020!!! Can't believe I am looking forward to a surgical procedure but I truly am!
Beldner the butcher! He did unnecessary surgery on me, making the problem permanently worse, then said "you can live with that". He hasn't realized yet that how you treat others in life determines where you go when it's over.
Went to Dr. Beldner for the first time today for my nail. Someone slammed my finger in the door and my new nail was growing under the other which was causing me a lot of discomfort. First of all, the front desk was kind and handled my paper work promptly. I went to the back pretty fast. The office is beautiful, and they have an x ray machine. Super fast. Super convenient. The xray tech was kind and patient with me, he instructed me on how to place my hand for the xrays. Dr. Beldner’s physician assistant was awesome. He took my information and not soon after I saw the doctor. He was so kind, gave me options and left it up to me to decide what I wanted to do. Just want to say thank you to everyone.
They double charged Splint fee, and does not reimbursement. My request for reimbursement of Splint deposit has been ignored for many months, numerous times. Office staff says, my only way is to keep contacting Nichelle Alston (who works at a remote location, never responded to phone or emails) . While office staff makes me pay on site, they do not process reimbursement on site.
My son is a college football player. He plays QB and sustained an injury to his throwing wrist last year. We were not sure what it was. The possibilities ran the gamut from a break to torn ligaments and finally to the ultimate nightmare, avascular necrosis or Kienbock's Disease as it is referred to in the medical world. I literally searched for the top hand/wrist specialists in the metropolitan area saw 5 different surgeons from some of the top hospitals in the city and then I finally met Dr. Beldner. To say he stood head and shoulders above all the others is an understatement. He was the most knowledgeable, and coupled that with an excellent bed side manor. His entire medical and administrative staff deserve major kudos as well. They were courteous and always went out of their way to help my son get back on the field. Dr. Beldner completely understood that sentiment as well but was sure to put his medical health first, but at the same time he was cognizant that we wanted to get him on the field as soon as possible, without sacrificing his long term health. Not an easy balancing act but one he was masterful at.. He patiently explained everything to us and based on his measured approach we were able to avoid a surgical procedure that some of the other professionals seemed all to quick to want to do. Whether you are looking for a sports doctor or just a wonderful all around doctor who cares and always answers the phone look no further than Dr. Steven Bender. He's a rare breed and what the medical profession is supposed to be about.I wanted to add some additional information regarding my experience with Dr. Beldner and his staff. I wanted to again compliment the herculean efforts his entire office and staff made recently. My son had to be scheduled for surgery based on the condition with his wrist. We were in the office this past Monday, May 7th and Dr. Beldner had time the following day on Tuesday but it then became about jockeying time in the OR. His assistant Terri who handles the surgical procedures was fabulous. She stayed late and kept calling until she was able to resolve the issue and get the time worked out so Steven could get in the following day. A special thanks to Dr. Beldner's PA Jeff Grady. He played an instrumental role as well because he was able to work with my insurance carrier and have Steven's most recent MRI approved in short order. Without Jeff's and Terri's persistence we wouldn't have been able to get the procedure identified and taken care of so quickly and that means a lot to us as he has to be ready for pre-season camp in August. Couple that with Dr. Beldner's bedside manner and brilliance in the operating room and we are confident my son will finally be able to get back onto the field. A place where he is truly happy. That is what all parents want to see. If you need a doctor and staff who ALWAYS put the patient first, you need look no further than Steven Beldner.
I went to d Beldner for a trigger finger over a year ago... He is the best of the best... no more problem with my trigger finger. :-) Hes an excellent doctor. Very professional, compassionate, and explains everything in a way you can understand. I was in good hands with Dr Beldner....
I had bi-lateral carpal tunnel release surgery performed by Dr. Beldner & his staff (July 2018/Dec 2018), and have nothing but positive things to share! Happy to report that my pain and symptoms are gone...but beyond that, I was most impressed with the entire procedure and care I received from start to finish. I was also super impressed that on the day of my surgery, after he had been in the OR all day starting at 7:30am, Dr. Beldner personally called me at the end of the day (around 6pm!) to see how I was feeling. He didn't ask an RN or someone else to do it...he cares that much about his patients. So if you are considering the surgery, consider this my two-thumbs up review. Thank you Dr. Beldner & Team!
Great staff. today was the 2nd time I have used his services (1st time was in 2010 for a broken hand). What sets Dr. B apart is that he provides well informed, thoughtful and thorough choices to his patients "without talking down to patients" . I would highly recommend Dr. B to anyone especially active people.
Dr. Beldner operated on a very bad wrist fracture I had. The first doctor I had seen with this injury had also suggested surgery but stated that the wrist would be somewhat disabled even afterwards.Dr. Beldner repaired my wirst, it is better than ever. Not only he is a great doctor but a very kind person. I am very fortunate to have met him and grateful for what he did for me. He also treated my sister and my husband, our family owe him a lot. I hold him in very high regard and recommend him to anyone looking for a doctor of this specialty.

I was recommended to Dr. Beldner and sure enough (right away) he explained my situation as clear as day. No unnecessary doctor terms that leaves you in the dark. I had a broken wrist and in addition I required carpel tunnel all at the same time. As an artist it was important for me to get my wrist back in top shape. After surgery and physical therapy, I couldn't be any more excited about my recovery! I'm functioning as I was prior to my accident! Thanks Doc!
Dr. Beldner recently operated on my wrist to remove a ganglion cyst. Dr. Beldner and his whole team are professional, accessible, and caring. When you are with him and his team, you have their undivided attention. On the day of my surgery, Dr. Beldner even called me that evening to check on how I was feeling. I have full confidence in Dr. Beldner and his team and offer my highest recommendation.
I've had two great experiences with Dr. Beldner. He performed surgery to remove a ganglion cyst from my wrist, and recently treated me for tendonitis in the wrist/thumb. Both times he was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. He was thorough, took the time to explain to me exactly what the problem was, what he recommended for treatment, and the probability of different possible outcomes regarding my reaction to the treatment. I highly recommend him!
Dr Beldner is one of the finest drs out there. i had a broken a finger and he found after a thorough examination there was an underlying issue of a tumor. i recently had surgery and he made me feel well at ease. He even called me later to check on me. I’ve never had a dr do that before. He has also assembled a fine team that works for him and they are very professional. I wouldn’t trust anyone else other than Dr. Beldner to take care of me. You should too. I highly recommend Dr. Beldner!
Dr. Beldner recently performed carpal tunnel surgery on my hand and I have nothing but good words to say about him. When he explained the procedure to me he broke it down in layman terms so I understood completely what was going to happen. He was friendly and courteous as is his staff. I would highly recommend Dr. Beldner to anyone who needs hand surgery. He answered all my questions and was very patient. I did not feel rushed at all. He is an excellent doctor.
