Boyce Douglas Dds's Online Review Report Card

I've been coming to Dr. Boyce for cleanings for seven years now. Every time, I'm struck by his minimalist approach, don't do more than is really necessary. After being to several dentists/perio specialists during the previous ten years, that performed or tried to perform expensive, painful treatments that were minimally effective and highly evasive, I was so relieved when I got to Dr. Boyce, and put on a regular cleaning program that got my issues under control with just cleanings. I stopped being afraid to go to the dentist, thanks to Dr. Boyce. I also developed a relationship with my technician and the front desk receptionist, and they treated me like family, for which I'm grateful. Very sad he is now retiring.

I wish I could give zero stars. I only had a consultation with Dr. Boyce and that was enough to completely turn me off. He was horribly rude (both to me and his assistant), condescending, and worst of all, his diagnosis was wrong and treatment plan was outdated and far too aggressive for my situation. So glad I got a second opinion and was able to resolve my situation with a different dentist. Dr. Boyce is not current with his education or treatment modalities and I think he's just riding things out until he can retire. Unfortunately he's the only periodontist in Anchorage and that shows in his attitude. I'll leave state before I'd ever step foot in his office again.

I’d love to give Dr. Boyce 5 stars, but unfortunately, that would require being able to see him. After waiting over 5 months for a first available appointment, I failed to confirm my appointment within the requested 4.5 hours I was given in my reminder notice, so Peggy gave away my appointment time. Angry and frustrated, I shared my experience with my referring dentist and orthodontist, both of whom were waiting on consultation and treatment from Dr. Boyce in order to finish my orthodontic plan of care.

Dr. Boyce and his team were friendly, prompt, and informative. We walked out feeling much better about my daughter's condition than when we arrived. My teen was treated like a young adult, all while I still felt respected as a parent. He went above and beyond to perform an exam AND a quick surgical procedure, which was so accommodating considering our need to travel 300 miles for treatment. What could have been split into two visits was completed in one. So glad we were referred. Highly recommended!

Probably the best I e ever been to. A true professional. Methodical, old fashioned. Sits you down in his office after his exam to explain everything. Very professional.

Dr Boyce is very truthful and straightforward but he’s also quite kind. He knows his job very well and his receptionist is always really sweet and friendly.

Dr. Boyce, his office staff, and his periodontal assistants were warm, personable, efficient, and professional. I'm not a fan of oral procedures, but I couldn't have asked for a better gum graft experience. Dr. Boyce explained the entire procedure simply and clearly to me beforehand, and I felt safe and pain-free throughout the entire procedure. Thank you to the entire Dr. Boyce office! I'm so glad I found them!

Dr. Boyce explained the procedure to me. I felt no pain. The aftercare was excellent. The staff was friendly and competent. Dr. Boyce is the only one in this field that I will go to in Anchorage.

My entire visit with Dr. Boyce was nothing short of stellar: Friendly office staff, pleasant assistant and a highly thorough exam. Not only did he see me early but he finished everything just 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment time with ever last question I had answered in a unhurried fashion. Go see this guy... absolute top notch!
