Dr. Wrigley has great bedside manner, is compassionate, and makes sure all your concerns are addressed. His office is quick to help with any questions as well. Was reassuring to know I was in great hands before going in for surgery.
Dr. Wrigley has been my surgeon for both an emergency appendectomy and a cholecystectomy. Should I ever need another surgery, he will be my first choice. Amazing bedside manner, compassionate, and really made sure all my concerns were addressed. He also spoke to my family in person immediately following my surgery, which was much nicer than the usual post-op phone call. When I had post-op complications, his office staff were quick to get information for me and to get in touch with Dr. Wrigley ASAP.
My husband had to have colon cancer surgery. He was very reassuring and good at explaining what to expect.
I had a major hernia. Dr. Wrigley repaired this yesterday morning. All my organs in my lower abdomen were displaced between my ab muscles and my skin. The hole in my abs was about the size of my fist. Dr. Wrigley was amazing. He has amazing bedside manner and overall has given me a great experience. I was very afraid going into surgery because in my last surgery I woke up from anesthesia with my abs ripping open and was traumatized by that. But Dr. Wrigley was amazing. I cannot praise this man enough, he is the best general surgeon in Anchorage.
I am absolutely blown away by how amazing Dr. Wrigley and his team are. I had to have my gallbladder out and my insurance was extremely confusing (and limited). They got me right in, went above and beyond to deal with my horrible insurance, and got my gallbladder out the next day. I followed up about payment and was told not to worry about anything but recovery. Dr. Wrigley and his office had covered all that insurance didnt. I can't thank them enough! I feel amazing now too :)
Dr. Wrigley did a great job before and after surgery. His office staff seems a bit disorganized however. I never want surgery again but if it were necessary I would chose Dr. Wrigley.
Yes, I was recommended to see him for surgery, ended up canceling it, then 4 days later ended up in the hospital, Very Nice, Professional, and accurate! I would see him again if I need anymore help, and yes I will be recommending him to a friend!
Went into the ER 8 days ago and ended up getting a laporoscopic appendectomy. Had meds for 2 days and then went to ibuprofen for the next 6. Called today since they’ve been closed the past 4 days for the holiday with concerns about increased pain (burning sensation whenever moving; can’t stand/sit, bend, go up stairs) vomiting, and rashes. My surgeon wasn’t available, so the receptionist was getting answers from this Dr, Wrigley. He would not speak to me, only to the receptionist while she was on the phone with me and only told me “take ibuprofen and drink water.” I was told he wasn’t able to see me because “he’s in clinic and dealing with his own patients.” I am a patient and if my Dr is unavailable then he, being on call, is legally responsible to see me. I am well hydrated and I’ve been taking ibuprofen, so blowing me off for two things I already explained had been taken care of is pure ignorance. He refused to see me and had his nurse tell me “go to the ER if it’s that bad.” As someone who had a run of the mill surgery 8 days ago, this is absolutely not a normal feeling (according to three other physicians I spoke with but am unable to see as they are not affiliated in any way with my original surgeon) and even states in my paperwork to call this office to be seen if any of the symptoms (all three of mine are listed) are being experienced. Ignorant doctor, rude staff, awful experience. If you have a choice, choose a respectful, attentive, professional doctor and steer clear from Wrigley. You bet I’ll be filing a formal complaint against his license as it is highly illegal to refuse to see a patient who is worsening post op when you’re the doc on call.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
