Am a resident in Anchorage . 2 weeks ago, had to go to the emergency ward , was diagnosed with Bladder stones. With everything that this Pandemic has thrown at me , this was yet more grief. To add yet more, the department that has to do the procedure is booked solid for at least a couple of weeks, and when the procedure finally takes place, will have to stay in the hospital overnight . The only solution is a medically assisted ride home . At my pay scale , is beyond my means . I was completely at a loss , without answers .I called Easter Seals in Anchorage, to see if there was a solution. I spoke with Carol Griffin , the Director of PCA Services, to see if she had a solution . She was very sympathetic and helpful, not only did she arrange a medical ride assist when the procedure is scheduled, but as a complimentary free service . She helped me make it through this trying time, my heart felt thanks goes out to her

This is an organization that claims to make millions of dollars a year yet can't provide the most basic of services for a family with someone that has autism. I asked if they could provide someone to help with my daughter a few hours a week so I could work. Nope, we don't help people in Eagle River. You need to find your own provider there, we can't find someone to drive out there. I know because it's sooo far from Anchorage. I asked if they would help with a small amount of rent money to help us keep our apartment. I'm talking about $500 when we are between jobs and drowning financially. Nope we don't help with that. Well, what DO you help with? You have no problem asking people to volunteer to raise money and have no problem fund raising but where pray tell does that money go? I can tell you where it isn't going! It's not going to a family struggling to make ends meet at the moment. I guess they'd rather see a family separated into different shelters and a person with Autism that will never understand why they wouldn't help us. Their commercial is misleading as is their website. They never really say WHAT they will help with. Wouldn't recommend. If someone has any clue of what services they DO offer, feel free to message me as to what those are because at this point, I have no idea!
