Excellent doctor , very skilled surgeon, did complete right hip replacement conversion 3 months ago and yesterday did complete left hip replacement. Am able to put weight on hip immediately. Had no infection or complications. Am looking forward to my knee replacement with him so I can ride my horses again.

My mom was referred to Dr. Patel through an appointment with Dr. White same group ( who is also amazing) Found in x ray that there was a huge issue with her hip. Long story short. After many scans and test we are being referred out to another Dr. who specializes in her needs. Dr. Patel was amazing and did allot of hands on with us making sure we did not slip through the cracks. He has a very caring soft energy that really is comforting. Although he will not be the one doing her hip replacement I would recommend him in a heartbeat and feel very confident in his capability to preform this. Very thankful for him.

Dr. Amazing  should  be his nick name.bar none the best most professional incredible state of the art fantastic results, I can't say enough about this knee replacement/ revision surgeon. If they could  duplicate this guy and spread him around  what a wonderful world it would be.  After 9 knee surgeries between both knees; including this last replacement with Dr Patel, 45 years of knee pain and complications I can not tell you how happy and pain free my experience was.  This isn't my 1st rodeo but no question my best so far. Working for UPS didn't help my knees either. What a difference a great doctor makes.I'm only two weeks out of surgery and already feel so much better. The hospital stay at Hoag hospital on Sand Canyon was amazing. The staff exceptional. I love you all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Dr. Patel is amazing! I am a 59 year old male who underwent a total hip replacement (anterior approach) six weeks ago. Prior to the surgery I had been experiencing chronic hip pain for more than 5 years. Other than the hip issue I was in good physical condition. I am now totally pain free. This new hip functions, at 6 weeks post-surgery, better than it has over the past 10 years! Dr Patel's surgical performance was nothing short of masterful. Alignment and functionality is absolutely perfect! Dr. Patel is the junior member (also the youngest) of the orthopedic team but his skill level is impeccable. While Dr. Patel is very humble potential patients' should be aware of his education and experience. This is from his CV:Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor's degree in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He then went on to earn both a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Medical Doctorate from Stanford University. While at Stanford, Dr. Patel was actively involved in research pertaining to computer navigation systems for joint replacement surgery and also assisted in designing multiple orthopedic surgical devices as a member of the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Program.Dr. Patel subsequently completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Residency at the University of California, Irvine, under the guidance of Dr. Robert Gorab and Dr. Steven Barnett. After residency, he completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction, Arthritis, and Joint Replacement Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City. This institution was recently voted the #1 rated Orthopaedic Hospital in the nation according to US News and World Report. While at HSS, Dr. Patel trained under several world renowned orthopedic surgeons including Drs. Chitranjan Ranawat, Thomas Sculco, and Eduardo Salvati.I was told my surgery was completed in 45 minutes. Also important to know is that Dr. Patel teaches the anterior approach to other Orthopedists. I hope this helps for those needing to choose a Surgeon to preform hip or knee replacement.UpdateI had my other hip replaced in December 2017 (first hip was replaced in August 2017). It is now February, 2018 and I am doing great! I walk several miles a day with no issues whatsoever. My posture has improved to the way it was many years ago. Dr. Patel once again preformed flawlessly! He pays attention to the details and has a superior skill level. There is a reason why Dr. Patel handles many of the difficult cases in the practice.Those considering hip or knee replacement should only consider the best Doctors and Dr. Patel is in my opinion (and many others) the best!!!
