List of Providence Anchorage Anesthesia Medical Group's Reviews
I had cataract and retinal surgery done at the Day Surgery clinic. The medical staff were great, communicated well and displayed a most professional and caring attitude. They ensured I was well cared for. After surgery, I experienced chest pains and they took did what it took to hasten treatment. My only negative comment came at checking in with the attendant taking time to complete her texting and the talking with other staff members before checking me in, but once I got past the front desk, everything was great.
ER was an obscenely long wait. When finally got back to a room after 3 hours, doctors/nurses were in the hall making fun of patients and talking about doing drugs. Everyone I encountered working here was rude, cranky and unhelpful. There was little to no communication between me and my doctor, and my lab work was forgotten about. Miserable ER!
Hey all. I will be laid up for a while. Had my left leg amputated. I hope to posting reviews during my recover since I will have time. Ty. For the greater good.I must say the food is better than most. Nice big portions. Sad that you have to be hurt to try them. I have been good and have had no desert. I will try a cpl to get the full range of the menu. The flavors did surprised me me here. I think it's time to order some breakfast. The view is great from my room. The have great cups for ice. I will get back to you.
Thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses and Techs who took care of my husband Carl Leake in 290 .Carl says he doesn't miss the having to be in the hospital but misses the care.He couldn't imagine being treated anywhere in the world. Thanks to Dr . Furnary and Dr. Murray and the Nurses he's getting better .
Only giving one star because no option to leave none . The worst experience of mine and my husband life . Took my husband to the ER in the worst pain I have ever seen anybody in ..horrible abdominal pain . Pain level was a 10! Doctor said it was a kidney stone at first..they did a CT scan and radiology said no pneumonia..gave him some antibiotics and sent him home with horrible pain . Knowing something wasn't right we went back . He sat there in the waiting room for 2 hours about to fall over in pain . Ask how long to be seen ? He was feeling like he was gonna die . Upfront lady said rudely we trying BUD! We left went to alaska regional he was taken care of immediately! With in 45 minutes he was admitted to the ICU with pulmonary embolisms all over his lungs . He could have died . I thank god for the health care workers that saved his life at alaska regional. He's getting better day by day and hopefully will be out soon thanks to them. Providence misdiagnosed my husband with a life threatening condition and he could have died. They treated him like a problem not like a patient. I will never forget the trauma they caused when we went there for help. Amazing that they are even allowed to practice medicine. Alaska regional is the only hospital we will EVER to go again ! They actually care about their patients . I can't say enough about them saving his life . Thank you Alaska regional!
The billing department is horrible, they are rude and inconsiderate.
They keep sending me bills that have already been paid by my insurance.
While visiting AK in June 2021, I had sharp pain in lower back. Went to Providence Urgent Care to get confirmation of a suspected kidney stone. They referred me to Providence Hospital ER. Got to the ER around 5:30 pm, and sat for 2 1/2 hrs. Finally taken back to examination room, and sat for another 30 minutes. Sleepy-eyed doctor comes in and asks, "What's going on?" I tell him my symptoms--sharp pain earlier in lower left back and some blood in my urine, just like I had 5 years ago with my first kidney stone. He says I likely have a kidney stone and I'll probably pass it, but come back if the pain returns. I see him for 5 minutes during a 3-hour wait, and I gave him the diagnosis. When I get back home to Virginia, I get a bill for $2700. I believe my wait time was excessive, and the amount charged was greedy and unreasonable.
This is less of a review and more of a "I'm entirely too awkward of a woman to say this in person" kind of thing, but there's a nurse at the check in window of the emergency room and he has the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen. Dark hair, Facial hair, nice voice. I believe his name is Tom. I've been here twice now in the last two weeks, once when I hurt my ankle and again with stomach issues and he checked me in both times and was just really pleasant. I wasn't going to publicly embarrass myself to ask if you were single, Tom. But someday if you see this review, and you are single. I'd love to have an actual conversation with you. I give you full permission to find me on social media. On a serious note though this hospital is awesome and I've been met with nothing but kindness every time I've come. The ER staff is simply amazing. Keep up the good work :)
This place has gone so downhill over the years. Especially with the care and service. Tonight I came in to the ER with a baseball sized abscess and was in an extreme amount of pain. Completely debilitating! I arrived at 10pm... first off, the security at the front door upon entering was VERY rude to my father and I. But I checked in and began to wait... and wait, and wait, and wait. Before I knew it, it's midnight and I'm still waiting. (3 hours now) I'm noticing everyone going in that arrived AFTER I did. I understand they do it based on patient acuity so that's not an issue... BUT! They're taking back babies who's parents brough them in because they're teething lol, someone who sprained their finger, etc. All not serious cases! Certainly not more severe than mine. So I waited, and I waited, and I waited, and I waited some more. Now it's 3am and I still haven't been seen. 6 hours in a waiting room when I'm in obvious agony. Really guys!? I walked out never to return. Go to Regional! This place SUCKS!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
