He knows his stuff. Very good Doctor took me years to find a real doctor Up here. I will never find Hey excellent doctor that was as good as well. He even gave me his personal cell phone number his personal cell phone number that tells you a lot💜💚💙❤️. RIP MY FRIEND 😘

Care was exceptional. Took time to explain procedure thoroughly and answer all questions. After the procedure he explained in detail all findings and their significance. As with any specialist in Alaska, scheduling is a small challenge. I would not hesitate to go back if necessary.

I have some rare GI issues going on that no other GI has been able to figure out. I was recommended to Dr. Ambasht by an ER doctor who saw how long I had been going untreated with my severe symptoms. Dr. Ambasht is hands down the best GI in Alaska. He is incredibly knowledgeable, wasn’t intimidated or put off by my unusual medical problems, and I have never had another provider be so thorough. He may not have the best people skills, but I’m not seeing him for his people skills, I’m seeing him because I’ve been sick for years, with no relief, and he is the first GI to actually try and figure it out instead of slapping an IBS diagnosis on me (that doesn’t even fit) and shuffling me out the door. Maybe my views on this differ because I have autism and my people skills also are lacking, but I don’t find his people skills lacking. He has a great sense of humor, and I find him to be very empathetic and caring. But again, I couldn’t care less about a providers people skills, I care about their intelligence, their knowledge, and their dedication to figuring out what’s wrong with my health. Dr. Ambasht exceeds all of my expectations.

Ambasht is the best! He knows how to deal with what I have going on!

Less than one month after a Valley surgeon did an EGD and diagnosed two problems but did nothing to correct either, Dr Ambasht repeated the procedure to correct problems and caught TWO precancerous conditions the other surgeon had completely missed! He may have saved my life and he definitely improved it! After 22 months of being unable to swallow and digest food properly, this Sunday I ate my first normal meal in almost 2 years. Dr Ambasht is a personal hero to me, and everyone who loves me is indebted to him for changing my existence from miserable and afraid to happy and getting healthy again. The fact that another surgeon missed both precancerous conditions is shocking, frightening ,and inexcusable. If you want a surgeon who listens to you and gets to the root of a problem go to this one. He's thorough and clearly cares.

My wife has been a patient of Dr. Ambhasht for more than a year now. It took MONTHS and MONTHS of testing, labs and run around (without follow-up) to finally get a diagnosis of Crohn's disease. His MA's never know what is going on and love to play doctor, telling her once that her labs were fine, when in fact they weren't. Not to mention orders almost always require multiple phone calls to their office due to errors. They tell you that follow-up about labs and imaging is 'the patient's responsibility', which I find completely ridiculous. This last appointment (after seeing him for more than a year) is the first one that we actually felt like he sort of cared.

Very rude and stuck up. Has not adapted to American cultural norms such as common courtesy.

For three years I went doctor to doctor and was told, in various ways, that I don't feel well because of my choices, "you eat too much of this" or "not enough of that". I was accused of being a hypochondriac and malingerer, all the way down to being openly accused of being a pill seeking junky. Within 2 visits, Dr. Ambasht had worked with me to create a diagnostic plan and thereafter a treatment plan. The staff at Pioneer GI not only worked with me, but served as my advocate with the VA to ensure I was not required to settle for their cut-rate fiscally motivated Maltreatment plan. After 3 years with Pioneer GI and Dr. Ambasht, I don't have a single negative thing to say!

Wonder Doctor and dedicated to providing quality healthcare to his patients. He is very thorough and detailed in his diagnosis and consult/ recommendations to his patients. I highly recommend this doctor for gastrointestinal issues or concerns. 10 stars.
