List of Alex D Malter's Reviews
Absolutely appalling bedside manner and very inappropriate comments and actions. Terrible charting habits that interject personal biases to ones medical record rather than the facts and realities that are key to proper continuation of medical care. Including but not limited to errors on the medication list (a very dangerous thing) and improper comments that impact care, prescribing medication that ...
Went in for a covid test so I could see the doctor about unrelated issues. No one called me with the covid results until 4 days after it came in (it was negative). I only got a call because they wanted me to have the appointment virtually. So why did I wait a week for my appointment and get a covid test if we were just going to have a virtual appointment? Zero consideration for the patient at this practice. To be fair, Dr. Malter seemed like a good Dr when I have seen him before, but I have had other issues with the front desk staff on previous visits. Since options for doctors in Juneau are limited, might be worth braving the front desk staff to get to Dr. Malter. I won't be going back.
Doesn't follow up with test results nor medications needed bedside manner the worst ever.
If I could rate zero I would. this doctor doesn't have patients need first. Especially if have more than one chronic illness. Will not recommend: home health care or hours will not send to a specialist out of state. All medical issues I have the specialists are at Virginia Mason Hospital
I see Dr. Malter for annual exams and have found him extremely competent and professional. He keeps the conversation and questions on task without excessive "hand holding." Many may not appreciate this attitude. I would highly recommend Dr. Malter.
I needed a prescription for my Vyvance medicine. I need it because I have severe ADHD. He treated me like a drug addict and tried to excuse my condition. He asked for a urine sample which I then had to pay 600 bucks for. He did everything in his power to not write me that prescription. As if my medical history wasn't enough.
I went to visit Dr Malter for his internist experience. He listened to what I had to say and didn't know the cause of my symptoms, bur referred me to a specialty Dr . Who comes up from Seattle. Appropriate labs were drawn, along with appropriate EKG. Dr Malter was pleasant and enjoyable to speak with. Give this Doc a chance..... he has 24 years internal medicine behind him, if there is something seriously wrong with you, I believe he would center right in on it. 05/16
I found him to be a very competent doctor when it comes to diagnosis and prescribing meds. On the three occasions I have seen him he prescribed medications that worked well for me and that is why I made him my primary physician. S. Higgins Juneau
He did not come across as confident in his assessment and knowledge on two occasions. His explanations did not sound solid or based on experience or fact. He came across as disingenuous.
I had no idea that so many people gave this guy a bad rating, i thought it was just me and he was just personalizing his condescension on me, boy was i wrong, he has issues. We had this philosophical mini civil battle of condescension, it was like dealing with someone that has never experienced real people and i know this sounds cliche, he seems all about the money only. I expereinced his arrogant cocky behavoir several times, during sometimes dire psychological times. He really made me feel insecure and low self esteem after leaving. I already fight that normally but man, i experienced a person that doesn't know who people are inside, the inner core thats simple to understand if you have the gall to go out and get it, he is jaded, i do respect him slightly in some ways. I just couldn't beleive what all these people had said about him, i should have checked first boy was i stupid. He had this mral haughtier than thou cock-sure spirit, i just needed a good doctor. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
