List of Daniel R Harrah's Reviews
Dr. Harrah has done 4 surgeries in the 15 years I've gone I have never been disappointed with his surgeries. He answered all my question thoroughly. Made me feel at ease & reassured me I would be taken care of. The after care I had to be admitted but even then he checked on me & listened to my questions, concerns & complaints. I would recommend Dr. Harrah to all my friends & family!
I broke my wrist and the ER xrays were reviewed by the radiologist and it was felt I had TWO breaks and should be sure to tell Dr. Harrah that because treatment would probably be different. He was convinced it was only one break and cast it. When the pain was excruciating I flew back to Juneau two weeks later only to have him say the xrays looked good and "your broke you wrist, IT IS GOING TO HURT". Weeks later, he recommended I have some PT. Fortunately I was able to see the only Certified Hand Therapist in Juneau, but after 9 sessions (2 X a week at $308 a trip by float plane, out of pocket) it was felt I was in need of a specialist. I went to a hand clinic in Seattle and the surgeon agreed with the radiologist that there were two breaks. The solution was surgery, the bone re-broken, a plate and screws inserted. Relief. But cocksure Daniel Harrah caused me great expense and summer of pain by not referring me to hand specialist. Oh, yes, I'm a 70 woman, not a 20 something athlete.
Doctor Harrah has done 4 total surgies for me the latest two total knee replacements. I would have no other surgeon than him. Goes through every detail with you meets any demands I've asked no matter how odd. He is on top of new and up coming medical information and willing to share his knowledge. Can't say enough about Doctor Harrah and the MS staff at Bartlett Memorial. They are amazing people was sad to leave and big thank you to Physical Therapist Rusty for being kind and helping walk so soon again after surgery. Hats off to you all Laurie Overbay
Dr. Harrah did shoulder repair. In September of last year. I've been complaining about my surgery. Since then. He keeps stating the fact that there is nothing wrong with my shoulder. But now mybicip slipped down into lower arm. But he refusing to correct his mistakes. He states that I have to keep his mistakes. HELL NO I SAY, HELL NO
DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! THEY ARE INHUMANE ROBOTS!!!! My daughter Kiki had surgery on Friday of last week for a torn ACL and Meniscus Tear. Surgery went fine but they gave her a very large brace and she weighs 110 pounds. They sent her to Skagway with very little pain medication. She has been calling their office since Tuesday begging for more and they say they will get prescription to Pharmacy but never do. Abby promised today, but didn't. She is out of pain meds. No golden rule.
I had an work related injury and he told me to take a Benadryl for the pain.
Dr. Harrah has performed several surgeries on me (knee, elbows, shoulder, hip). All surgeries were successful and my scaring is minimal. He explained everything to me in a way I could understand and answered every question thoroughly. He has an excellent bedside manner. I trust his opinion. I had him perform knee surgery on my son, that's how much I trust him.
worst medical experience i have had. lost years of my working life.he did not know, or would not admit to the problems of his operation. i ended up going to mayo clinic to re-replace my knee.
He misdiagnosed a shoulder injury which resulted in further injury that was not repairable. Implied I was too old to waste the expense of surgery on.
Very poor treatment. Would never recommend. Rather than do CT scan on painful swollen knee, Harrah had an xray made and ordered physical therapy. Guess he thought being as I was fat and 60, it was lack of exercise. PT made the pain much worse. After 3 months of no follow up, another Dr intervened and ordered a CT scan which showed severe meniscus tear and a large marble size cyst. Surgery was scheduled through another local Dr and knee has healed in only a few weeks after enduring more than 7 months of serious pain and limitation to walking or standing. Nice man - lousy Dr.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
