Dr Garcia had amazing skill and care for my surgery repair of my broken humerus. Follow up care was spot on as well! I'd recommend him to anyone needing orthopedic care or surgery!

Usually amazing surgeons have terrible communication skills, so i should have prepared myself. Not trained in basic empathy or questioning why somone might feel upset. All can be done a in a minute or 2 while getting the information they need.I would not have rambled on if i got perhaps" i can see why that would be upsetting".Emotionless reaction. That skill is great for surgery not for one on one patients paying out of pocket and misinfomed on costs.. A little effort is all I ask.

It’s unusual these days to have a physician to listen to you and actually hear what you have to say. Having Dr. Garcia perform carpel tunnel release surgery on my left hand reminded me of how important it is to have a physician that is meticulous in his surgery, but also takes the time to explain the process. The pre-surgery appointment was informative and thorough. I appreciated his clear explanation and the analogies he used to make it. I also liked that his hands-on exploration of my symptoms made me realize that he was unwilling to rush into a surgery unless it was absolutely necessary. I cannot recommend Dr. Garcia highly enough. We are so lucky to have someone of his caliber in Southeast Alaska. I am so grateful that we do.

I had the good fortune to have Dr. Gustavo Garcia as my surgeon for my recent carpal tunnel release and will have the other released soon. He is not only professional and respectful but he's kind. He listens and then addressed all of my questions and concerns and even drew illustrations to give me a better understanding of the procedure. : ) All of this is to say that I have total confidence in Dr. Garcia's skill and expertise. I think Southeast is very fortunate indeed that Dr. Gustavo Garcia decided to hang his shingle in Juneau.

Dr. Garcia and his staff helped me with ulnar nerve issues I was experiencing. He was very thorough in his explanations, and listened to and addressed my concerns. Very pleasant to interact with, and prompt in his care. I would recommend without hesitation.

When I made my appt with JBJC, I told the receptionist to put me with a doctor that was patient and would take the time to actually listen to me. She immediately said that Dr. Garcia is the one! She was correct! Dr. Garcia didn't make me feel like I was being judged or overexaggerating my pain like other doctors did. I had been dealing with so much pain in my entire body with having arthritis in both knees, both hips, a right toe and arthritis in my spine along with 2 slipped discs...I was a mess, exhausted and desperately seeking help/relief when I met with him. Dr. Garcia exuded kindness, patience, a deep understanding of my pain & knowledge of the procedure, professional yet genuinely cares. During the TKR procedure, Dr. Garcia was extremely thorough. The incision is perfect. The scar is healing beautifully. My new knee is stable, strong and at 6 wks post, I'm at 118 ROM & doing amazingly well. If your pain is affecting your quality of life, call JBJC and ask to see Dr. Garcia!

Dr. Garcia repaired my tib/fib spiral fracture. 6 months post surgery my bones are completely healed and I just started running again! Very pleased with my recovery and patient care.

Dr. Garcia removed 2 screws from my ankle. He was thorough in explaining the procedure, risks and recovery time. Very kind, personable, informative and patient in answering all questions and concerns at all my appointments. Surgery and recovery went very well. A truly great doc/surgeon to have in our small town Juneau! Thanks Doc!

In June, Dr. Garcia was my surgeon for a closed tibial plateau fracture. At every appointment, I appreciated his straight forward communication and efficiency. He let me know right away that this was a serious injury and that the road ahead would be challenging but he was confident and optimistic and inspired the same in me. He was always pleasant and courteous and listened to and answered all my questions. I am super grateful that he was my surgeon and that I could get such excellent care right here in Juneau.
