Do you know is certainly the bottom of the food chain when it comes to some doctors. That's not to say that they are all bad, and some of the best I've met work in Juneau. It's just that horrible doctors like this who would have a hard time being employed elsewhere, get to stick around and make people's lives miserable at very difficult times. Sadly, he's not the only doctor in the Bartlett ER that is alarmingly poor at doing his job.
I was shocked at the lack of professionalism from this physician. His clear disdain for those he deals with is truly shocking. Waiting until a female patient is alone in a room and then coming in to harass, degrade, and verbally assault that patient is criminal! It shows a serious character flaw that no one in a position of power over the vulnerable should ever be allowed to have! And BRH does NOTHING in spite of regular complaints and reports of harm. Disgraceful!
This provider is abusive, antagonistic, and consistently discriminatory towards woman. Especially woman who suffer from any type of chronic pain conditions. He lacks professionalism, empathy, and is seemingly incapable of basic respect and courtesy. This doctor single handedly turned the DR into a place that, rather than feeling safe there, one ends up just wanting to flee. His abuse of his position ...
I wouldn't let this doc great you, especially if female!
Dr. Brown is definitely not getting any kind words from me. Even with obvious physical symptoms-very clearly visible to anyone-no MD required-being presented, he still could not be a professional. He clearly entangles his own issues and opinions (ugly divorce, everyone is a liar, all patients want is pain meds and benzos, etc.) with whoever the patient in front of him is. In my opinion (and that if every credible ethics resource I could access) it's not just unprofessional and unethical.....it's cruel and extremely dangerous. Making a value judgement about another human being always allows for whoever is doing it to show just how far removed from "being human" this physician has strayed. Worst of all....I doubt he cares.
I think Dr. Brown is one of the most caring and nuturing ED Drs I have encountered. I am speaking for myself as his patient and my husband. Wish he was a clinical Dr.
Dr. Brown has a terible bedside manner and is inclined to be judgemental and cruel. It appeared that he felt any complaint about pain was a prelimiinary effort to obtain pain medication, which he apparently feels is a moral issue rather than a medical one. He hasn't hesitated to resort to name-calling, yelling, and humiliation of any patient he feels is "drug seeking". Nor does he seem to be bothered by the possibility of missing a real diagnosis due to his callous and often cruel treatment of any patient falling outside the narrow definition he has of what constitutes a "real" problem or need. I expect that someday soon, Dr. Brown will find himself on the receiving end of a malpractice or slander lawsuit.
The best thing I can say about dr. brown is that he is consistent in his intense dislike of hearing the words " it hurts". He automatically assumes (particularly if you have a chronic condition that causes pain) that you are a "drug seeker" and thinks nothing of humiliating you on the spot, at a high volume, just to make sure everyone else knows that he thinks you are a fraud. I wouldn't be surpried to one day find him on the receiving end of one or more lawsuits galore for his hideous treatment of so many patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
