Nicholas D Newbury's Online Review Report Card

I have seen 3 OBGYN doctors over the past year due to miscarriages and now have a specialist. I am 7 months pregnant and was required to see Dr. Newberry because of necessary prenatal checkups. He doesn’t hold a candle to either the doctors I’ve seen or my specialist. He believes himself to be ‘educating’ yet fails to actually listen. His ultrasound techs take skewed measurements (I’ve confirmed this with my specialist) and then he doesn't follow up with those measurements himself. For example, he said he was going to take a fundal height and Doppler heart rate scan. He took the fundal height and completely forgot about the Doppler scan due again to his need to ‘educate’ me. His nurse administered a surprise blood glucose test (which I wasn’t warned about prior to my appt) and failed to tell me I wasn’t supposed to eat or drink anything for an hour in between blood draws. The incompetency of Dr. Newberry clearly spills over in to that of his staff. I felt like a number at a factory.

I feel very fortunate to be able to see someone who is a specialist and cares so much about women’s health. I had a post party condition misdiagnosed twice by other well-meaning general practice doctors, and when I saw Dr. Newberry he immediately recognized what was going on and helped me to remedy it which was a significant boost to my quality of life. I would definitely want him on my team if I have another baby.

Dr. Newbury did a great job on my surgery. I was very excited to be able to get excellent care without having to leave town. He was sensitive to my situation and was able to take care of my issue with ease. Thanks Doc!

I made an appointment to see dr. Newbury and when I arrived he wasn't even there. They sent in the PA. I've gone in twice now and I've yet to meet him. The PA was very nice but it would have been nice if they told me ahead of time that I wasn't actually going to see the dr. When I was there they insisted on redoing my pap even though I just had one. Then I had to have a biopsy. After the results came back they did not notice for over a month that the results were messed up and incomplete.

I saw Dr Newbury for the first time in the hospital after I had a late miscarriage at 19 weeks. He was incredibly compassionate and understanding and gave me time to process this loss and answered all my questions. Even though there were several other women in the OB ward under hdis care he never seemed rushed .

Dr. Newbury is not only highly knowledgeable and passionate about his profession, but more importantly he is very understanding and sympathetic to women's needs. All too often, doctors really don't take the time to understand what is going on and try to get you out the door with a script. This is not the case with Dr. Newbury. He really is a breath of fresh air to the medical world. Five stars are simply not enough for this doctor. Go to see him. You will not be disappointed.
