List of S. Craig Humphreys's Reviews
Dr. Craig Humphreys may be a good surgeon? It’s hard for someone with out a medical background to know. I have used the offices that Dr Humphreys has been associated with for the last 7 years. Dr Humphreys has performed one surgery on my back and an associate performed another. Neither surgery resulted in improvement of my condition. That maybe just the way it works, few surgeries result in improvement. I do believe that that the Dr and his staff don’t care at all about the out come of your care. Every time I have used the Dr the process moves at a snails pace. I was referred by Dr Humphreys office for a nerve conduction study. At that time, I was told by Dr Humphreys and his assistant that if I couldn’t get in quickly to contact them for help with scheduling. When I made the appointment, it was more than a month out from the current date. Thinking this was to long I made a call to Dr Humphreys office for help scheduling a sooner appointment. When I called for assistants, I never got past the receptionist. The receptionist assured me this is how it works. Even as I explained that I was instructed to call Dr Humphreys office if I encountered scheduling problems. I requested a call back I never received a call back. I ask does this sound like a place that cares about your wellbeing or outcome of their care.
Dr Humphries is a surgeon that is a whole person, not just a specialist Doctor. I absolutely recommend him! He has done both my neck and lower back fusions and care. To me he is the BEST!!!! I have all the confidence in the world and willingly drove from the valley to Kenai for surgery and appointments and would fly up willingly from Oregon now to see him!
I was told more than once that Soldotna had a spinal surgeon that I should see. I was cancelled by the Dr. in Anch, more than once and finally visited Dr. Humphreys' office in the summer of 2011. He replaced my C-7. When I woke up after surgery the pay was gone. As of 2018 I am pain free and active. I highly recommend Dr. Humphreys and his wonderful staff.
I have not met Dr. Humphreys, but I took my daughter in to see his pain specialist Dr. Simonson. Dr. Simonson was wonderful. He really listened to her and considered her complex issues. I really appreciated his careful, thoughtful approach.
I won't even let Dr Humphreys get. close to my body! I say this because I couldn't even make it past the pain specialist he has hired to screen his patients, Dr. Simonson. He was totally unprepared for my appointment and didn't even have my file when he entered for my exam and had to go get his assistant to find them. His demeanor was terrible and rude! I wouldn't let Kenai Spine operate on my dog!
I had a L5-S1 disk replacement 1 year ago and i couldn't be happier with the results. Fantastic doc
Preop meeting he told me needed c4-c5-c6 fused. Several bone spurs removed and spinal stenosis cleaned up. Recovred for 5 months then returned to work. 2 weeks later i was having the same symptoms. Tests showed only c4-c5 had been fused. No bone spurs were removed and they had grown to twice the original size and the stenosis had not been touched. He had moved his practice to Alaska and was no longer in Chattanooga. Only 3 weeks after returning to work i was having to find someone to do another surgery. The next surgeon i picked even said humphreys was known for setting people up so he would have a second surgery. He casused me to have two onky months apart. I should have sued his sorry butt.
Dr. Humphreys was highly recommended by my local orthopedic surgeon. Dr. H listened carefully and paid attention to all my symptoms, instead of discounting them as others have. He treats me as a person not just another patient. He never rushes me. My complex surgery was successful and he came to visit me in the hospital personally several times. He has given me hope for a physically active future. He also gets high praise from all the medical professionals I encounter.
Dr. Humphreys came highly recommended by my local ortho surgeon. He also gets high praise from all the medical professionals I encounter in my treatment, from my back brace specialist, to the head of the PT dept., to doctors and nurses. He is compassionate and and an excellent surgeon. I had a complex surgery, am 3 months post op and doing very well.
The group Dr. Humphreys practiced with in Chattanooga is known to be knife happy. I had 3 procedures and eventually took care of the issue, but looking back, I regret buying their pitches for surgery and not sticking to more conservative treatment...perhaps more holistic measures too as part of my back problems were driven by a hip issue that was never diagnosed. Dr. Humphreys left Chattanooga without notice as well, which continues to puzzle many. Regardless, I'd recommend specialists outside of this area, and I wouldn't go back to Chattanooga Sports.
