List of J. Michael Smith's Reviews
Very rude. He was in a hurry no time to answer questions.
As a new patient, he spent less than 5 minutes with me and the exam was a joke. He was somewhat rude, mumbled, and then fled the room. I will not be returning.
I
Dr Smith is a very compassionate and friendly Cardiologist. He shows that his work is not only important but his patients health as well. He asks the kind of questions that says he's very concerned and wants to help in any way he can...I would recommend Dr Smith to everyone.
The emergency room called him several times and he refused to answer their call or even return it to see what to do with me. I’m medical card so I guess I’m not important. I will be finding a new cardiologist. This is uncalled for and very unprofessional.
You feel as though he is your friend from the moment he opens the door to greet you. He cares about his patients and he listens to your issues concerning your health. He along with another doctor saved my husband's life and I will forever be grateful to Dr. Smith.
Mike Smith is conscientious about his patient's overall well-being.
smart, personable, pleasant doctor.
Michael Smith has been my doc for over 25 years and is always informed, compassionate and in every way available. His clinic is a busy one and short waits are not unusual and should be factored in for any visit. Part of the reason for delays is that Dr Smith never hurries an exam and takes the time to check the whole patient not just the problem that urged the consult. Five minutes extra will back up a schedule. I'd rather wait a bit and get the extra time than be processed on a tight schedule so some one in the waiting room doesn't write a rant to Yelp about the indifferent staff. His nurses are skilled and really pleasant and the front staff, while busy , have never, in my experience, been anything other than cordial and caring. Smith is very up to date on many new trends in medicine and also embraces many non-western ideas. He is hands down, the best doctor in the Bay Area.
The office staff is the greatest. They always find a way in to see Dr. Michael Smith, or another doctor when he is away. When Dr. Smith was unavailable, the other doctors were always able to help address my illness and concerns. While Dr. Smith is pretty much full service family doctor, he also provides acupuncture and Neuroendocrine Immunology, Metabolic and Nutrition, and Osteopathy (Cranial Sacral therapy). I have been a patient for a few decades (with about a decade break in the middle). When I returned to him I was in bad shape. The doctor during my break period, in the town where I sleep, had me on some terrible medications not properly suited for my conditions. Dr, Smith sorted all of the issues out and nurtured me back to a path of good health. Dr. Smith has corrected issues of mine regarding warts, scare tissue, influenza, impotency, gallbladder disease, lacerations, exhaustion, hypertension, sinus infections, ganglion cysts, and extreme pain from numerous injuries. He has utilized a blend of healing techniques including acupuncture, pharmaceutical prescriptions, prolotherapy, biopuncture, and Osteopathy (Cranial Sacral therapy). And one feature lost in many offices - he listens to the patient and engages in a conversation to sort out the ailment from a wide perspective.I get sick, or hurt myself, Dr. Smith repairs or directs the repairs to heal me. I returned to him in a very crippling state of health 11 years ago, and within a few months I was feeling better, and I now feel better than I did 18 years ago.Go see him - he, his staff and co-doctor's are good!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
