List of Tyson Sydney's Reviews
First, I need to say that Dr. Tyson is the best. However, his staff is the worst.I had an appointment at 10:30AM. Drove an hour and a half (58 miles), arrived early for my appointment only to be told that the Dr. Was in surgery that day and was not available.Like I said, I thought Dr. Tyson was worth the drive, but I'm sure that they knew, before I left my house, that he would not be available. How many other patients were similarly inconvenienced? They have my phone number and email address. A simple text message would have been appreciated.Feels like arrogance.
I like Dr Tyson, but his staff does a terrible job ofScheduling! I drove 40 minutes for a 1:50 appointment & called to let them know I arrived. They told me (after waiting on hold for several minutes) I had to wait for a seat to open in the waiting room & they would call me. After waiting 30 minutes in my car with no call, I called & had to leave a voicemail to obtain a return call. When they called back they said there is a seat if I wanted to come in, but they couldn’t tell me when I would be seen! Advised them I couldn’t sit there for hours & to cancel appointment!
Have been unbelievably fantastic to me I will never go to another eye doctor again.Wills eye hospital messed up my eye pretty bad but thanks to doctor Tyson's office it is now under control.
I recently was seen by Dr. Tyson for what I believed was a chalazion cyst on my eye (started as a stye) that needed to be removed. He examined my eye with only a flashlight and immediately told me it was a pimple. He sent me about my way with a topical antibiotic. I knew something was wrong, considering people don’t ever gets pimples on their eye lids. I called several times for oral antibiotics after days of no results with the topical and I was continuously dismissed and their office made me feel like I was being over dramatic. About a week later the infection then spread to my other eye... I contacted a new physician and explained what was going on (two serious eye infections in what was a 23 day long nightmare before seeing a new MD). About an hour later, I was diagnosed with what indeed was a chalazion cyst and given the proper care and saw results within one day (it was far too late to remove it). This new physician even said that the topical I was using was a huge cause of the infection spreading! And to think someone can trust this doctor... I would never recommend this place to anyone I know.
Review rating for optical department only. Visited website & sent an email inquiry regarding eyeglass prescriptions made elsewhere and if they would accept it for buying a new pair of glasses in their optical dept.Their reply later that afternoon was:a website url. Nothing else. I clicked on the URL and it brought up an online form for an appointment for an eye exam!!!NOT ONLY A RUDE RESPONSE BUT REVEALS THE BUSINESS CLIMATE THERE IN REGARD TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ACQUIRING NEW POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS; ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS......GET LOST!!!!!BY THE WAY....THE "1 STAR", RATING WAS AS "LOW" AS I COULD GO.
Better communication between staff members.MD had emerg. and my 97 yr. old father-in-law wasn't told.My husband had to ask @ the long wait. Not professional.
Tyson performed lasik on me 10 years ago. When I had the surgery he told me that my right eye was worse than my left eye and there was nothing he could do about it until it healed. I never noticed the difference so I did not bring it up again. Then it started to get worse over the years which is why I went back to him. He wanted to have both my eyes have a flap recut, and he was going to charge me to do it at half the cost it normally is. When I brought up what he said 10 years ago, he said there is no record of him saying that. I went to Kremer in Cherry Hill instead to get a second opinion, the people who invented lasik. They said that my left eye is 20/20 and did not need surgery (it is technically just under 20/20, but it is off by such a minuscule amount that they said doing surgery on it would lead to over-correction, so they did not want to touch it), they said my right eye was bad because of bad lasik and it was evident that was the case, and they did not want to perform lasik on it but instead PRK, which does not require a flap. Kremer also offers free enhancement for life. Not only was Tyson going to do a pointless procedure on me, but he was also going to do it on an eye that did not need surgery. And he was going to have me pay for it! My father and brother also went to Tyson and they are having problems too. I have them going to Kremer now.
I called for an appointment being a vessel had rupture in my eye. When I called they acted like they didn't want to be bother. They told me I'd have to see Triage and they would call me back. After almost five hours later they called. I'd had already contacted someone else who took me right in to see a real dr. Thank God I did!!! Tue I'm having later surgery on both my eyes. They consider it an emergency and have to keep eye drops in eyes till then. Apparently the pressure in my eyes are off the chart who would of know. I know I will never call for an appointment there ever again!! To think I was told they where the best!!! Wow!!
He actually let me go in the OR when my grandmother had cataract surgery. Very cool!
My family has been going to this place for 12 years now and we have only good things to say about every one of our visits. The cleanliness and professionalism of the staff still impresses me each time I come in for my appointments. Amazing experience through and through! Can’t wait for my upcoming appointment!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
