Great doctor!!!! He knows what he is doing

Excellent bedside manner, caring, and professional.

Dr. Black is 100% the doctor to choose. He follows with you throughout the entire surgery and after. He called me yesterday at home to check on me. No doctor has EVER done that. He shoots straight, listens to you and takes care of you. I was very nervous about having my multinodular goiter removed and it was my first ever surgery. He and his team were so compassionate and helped me the whole way. I highly recommend him!

Dr Black has changed my life !!! I highly recommend him. His staff is also great. I have never had a Dr to come in ,sit down & talk with me like he does. He explains everything so that I understand. I'm 3 months out & have lost 61 lbs !!! Thank you Dr Black !!!

Dr Black and staff clearly explain the surgery and steps for patient success in easy to understand terms, and provide excellent advice and support in aftercare. If you’re considering affordable bariatric surgery to battle morbid obesity you won’t find a better place.

I've had a problem with heartburn and reflux for so many years. I had a hiatal hernia but could not find someone in my area to fix it. I was taking double strength Nexium every day for years and still had heartburn and reflux. I was miserable. Had a friend that Dr. Black fixed his hiatal hernia so I went to see him. Within 2 weeks time I had surgery and have not taken a single medication since the surgery and have not had the first sign of heartburn or reflux since. I can not recommend anyone more than Dr. Black! He was wonderful and the surgery he preformed on me (Nissen fundoplication) totally changed my life. I am so thankful that I found him. Go see him as soon as possible if you have problems with heartburn and acid reflux.

Please do not pay any attention to the 1 star reviews. Dr. Black is precious! He shoots you the truth and gives you information to make your surgery decision a successful one. I’m sure over the years, after giving his patients the keys to losing all the weight and keeping it off, he’s seen a few of them come back in with weight gain, knowing they didn’t follow their diet. That can be frustrating, knowing that the surgery is a serious one. He wants his patients to be successful. He was so kind to my daughter while I was in recovery. He explained everything thoroughly to her as to what went on and what to expect. The ENTIRE staff at his office was wonderful and the ENTIRE staff at Stringfellow hospital was wonderful as well.

I apologize now for a long review but it's important to know the doctor your dealing with. As for Dr.Black, it was a life changing event for me finding him to repair my hiatal hernia with the Nissan Fundoplication surgical procedure. I had severe heart burn for over 30 years, 30 years. I was on Protonix all that time because my current insurance said I was doing fine with it. I turned 65 and got Humana Ins. They covered it. Yah! Humana! I started out with a specialist from Carrollton whom I was referred to and I listened without any research, bad move. That joker wanted to do stomach bypass surgery. I'm 6ft. and weigh 247lbs, big but not extreme, according to Dr.Black, thank God. I went through testing in Carrollton that was stretched out over 4 months last summer to then be told forget the Nissan, he refused to do it. That's when I decided to do my own research, daa! I found one of the best Nissan procedure doctors on this side of the country right here in Anniston Alabama, Dr.Black. In 1 1/2 weeks he ran test, did the operation and changed my life. He's retired military and don't mess around, a straight laced guy. He said, follow my instructions all will go great. I'm no buddy's fool. I listened. This doctor is the only way to go for mine and other types of surgeries. Dr.Black, your the BEST and THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I want to give Dr Black and staff 👍👍, Dr Black us an awesome surgeon, his staff is awesome. My sleeve surgery went off without any complications and with very minimal pain. I would suggest Dr.Black to anyone thinking of bariatric surgery.

Dr.Black eliminated 30 years of heart burn, stomach pain and constant medication all in a week and half. From my first visit to the successful operation of Nissen fundoplication. He changed my life. I would never hesitate to send family or friends to go see this great surgeon.
