List of Justin G. Hovey's Reviews
The people who gave him a negative review are telling the truth. He prescribed some medicine for me to take and it made my blood pressure go up. I never had problems with my blood pressure before. When I tried telling him I didn't feel well he acted like he didn't believe me. His nurse didn't even report to him how high my blood pressure was and it seemed like they didn't communicate well. He ordered some test for me that were never scheduled. The bill was excessively high. I made up my mind to pay him and never return. When I went there to make my payments the waiting room would be empty but all these signs were up telling people to pay there bill. I personally think he has a personality disorder. What is troubling is that he is now teaching students. He seems to be the type of person to pass or fail a student based on their looks instead of their hard work and qualifications.
Best initial assessment I've ever had. Thorough, knowledgeable, and informative beyond anything I'd previously experienced. Dr. Hovey was also the perfect balance of professional and friendly, putting this usually reluctant patient at ease.
Hovey is not a good doctor. Seems to do things for spite when patients have an issue taking the meds he prescribes. Prescribed an elderly family member of mine a drug to which she is badly allergic. It said so on her chart. When we called to have them call in something else, he refused. He made her travel all the way back to his office to get a prescription and prescribed a name brand $600 medicine. The pharmacist said that Hovey had indicated "no generics" on the script. This seemed very spiteful to those of us trying to care for our loved one in her late 70s. We changed to a better doctor. He tracked me down and called me after I left a similar review on Google. He said it was to apologize. It didn't sound that way to me.
Dr. Hovey doesn't give a damn about his patients. Stay away from this man who literally turned me away in a life or death situation. Find a Dr. who cares. This one doesn't
Dr. Hovey is one of the best physician's I have used over the past 60 years. He has solid medical knowledge and stays up-to-date with new and evolving medical modalities. Not only does he have an office practice but he follows his own patients if hospitalized. The practice utilizes a patient portal which I like as I have ready access to my labs and other diagnostic test. I no long have to play "she said, he said" as I can email Dr. directly. I get great care as well.
Dr.Hovey's arrogant, believes he knows Everything!!Wants to prescribe meds, but if you are unable to take it for any reason, it upsets him.Childish.Expected him to stomp his foot, pitch a fit & run out crying. His whole disposition changes.also if you're taking a RX he doesn't LIKE,no matter how long you've taken it & it Works, he'll want you to Stop it! Won't listen, acts better than you.Keeps Calling in meds my mom's Allergic to.Records Not updated after visit,Not a good Dr.Lawyer Time!
Dr. Justin Hovey is not a good doctor. Don't take your family to him. He does not listen to his patients, he randomly prescribes unneeded medications and will prescribe medications that you are allergic to. Case in point, my mother-in-law. He prescribed a medication that she is allergic to (which his office was fully aware) and when she called to question the prescription he required her to drive all the way to his office to pick up another prescription. She's 75 and doesn't drive and he would not call it in to the pharmacy. When she arrived he had written her a prescription for the name brand version of the same medication! Not only was it the same medicine, it was $675! This is not patient care, this is spite. This is malpractice and he should not still be in business. Protect your loved ones. Don't take them anywhere near Justin Hovey.
After seeing Dr. Hovey after a recent illness and hospitalization, he found a wonderful balance among compassion, concern and straightforwardness in my treatment plan. He was very thorough during the exam and asked many questions to ensure he considered my conditions from all angles. He explained things very clearly and was clear what I needed to do moving forward from that appointment in order to stay on track.
I was devastated when my previous family doctor closed the doors to his practice. I was so comfortable with him that the very thought of having to find a new doctor made me ill, I felt such relief when we found doctor Justin Hovey. My husband and I both changed to him immediately, He is a very caring man and has the best bedside manner of any doctor I have had. He is always concerned about my concerns. We would totally recommend him to everyone. He is great, however some of his staff needs to be replaced, It took over a week for her to get my pain meds preapproved and she didn't seem the least bit concerned about my feelings. One bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch. We will continue with Dr. Hovey as long as he will see us, They don't come any better than him.
Dr. Hovey absolutely gets 4 stars from me. I am someone who would absolutely not be alive today if it was not for him. Thank you Dr. Hovey and your wonderful staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
