My mother was “treated” or really I should say mistreated by Dr. Thomas for her melanoma. It was in advanced stages and she was having a difficult time accepting that she had been through so much chemo and radiation therapy yet nothing was helping. Additionally she wasn’t used to the pain medicine therefore one day she fell and hit her head. She was taken to the oncology ward which was at that time Athens Regional Medical Center. Dr. Thomas had already begun to be rude to my mother previous to this happening. My mom was I think the best word would be numb. She was in a fog from the pain medicine and in denial that she wasn’t getting better. Dr. Thomas had no empathy for her whatsoever At ARMC he visited her room for the final visit before I took her to my home via Hospice. She asked him...I will NEVER forget this as long as I live...”So what’s next?” and Dr. Thomas answered “You die That’s what’s next”. I literally was in shock My mom seemed as if she hadn’t even heard what he said but I was infuriated How dare he??? Are you kidding me??? He immediately walked out and that was the last time I ever saw him. So if you want a doctor with a good bedside manner...oh and one that can remember what tests you have had when you come in specifically to get results for the test that he can’t remember yet just ordered....this may not be the one for you
He is a very nice person. But in over 2 years the only time he has ever sat down to talk to me was when he had an intern observing him. His PA is excellent and takes the time to ask questions and listen. She has my problems very well documented. But when I see Dr. Thomas he has no idea what is going on. I have tried repeatedly to get him to listen but he does not take my symptoms seriously. He tells me my test results are good and literally bounces out of the room. I never know whether I am seeing him or the PA as sometimes the office has one listed on my appointment but the other one ends up walking in the room. Because of this I feel I can never be prepared for what kind of conversation I am going to have. It does not matter anyway because they do not believe my symptoms are caused by the treatment they gave me.
Very kind and caring.
Had a great experience. He explained what would take place and answered all my questions.
People need to know this hopefully it saves someones life. I am not at this clinic now thankfully but they keep deleting my comment from their Facebook page and blocked me from commenting not wanting others to know the truth. Terrible experience. I would not be alive if I hadnt left the area 2 years ago and got away from this practice. I would recommend anyone to please choose another practice. Demand imaging tests. Be an advocate for your own care. Dr. Jeffrey Thomas did not listen to me knowing that I was a breast cancer survivor from 2008. He wouldnt order any tests when I complained of issues in the same under arm where my original cancer was turns out I moved from the area and found a wonderful team of doctors who diagnosed me with metastatic breast cancer. I thank God for the caring doctors and treatment I have now. universitycancer athensga lavoniaga universitycancer

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
