List of John A. Abrams's Reviews
Professional
Dr Abrams is a concerned and caring physician with an exceptional knowledge of today’s medicine. His staff is very friendly and caring. It is a well run, efficient office.
Dr. Abrams is an excellent doctor. I have had more than my share of physicians because of moving and frequent serious illnesses. He uses specialists when needed and does not rush to finish and move on to the next patient. Perhaps his most unusual asset is that he listens to complaints and concerns the I have. He seems to consider that I have lived in in my body for a long time and am somewhat familiar with how it is supposed to work. I may not have the medical knowledge that he has, but I have a lot of experience with my body and appreciate the fact that he listens.
Highly recommended! He and his staff take the time to answer questions and listen to concerns. I don’t go to the doctor often so when I’m sick, I need an appointment ASAP. They always find a way to work me in without excessive waiting.
Dr Abrams might be ok, but his staff is highly incompetent. Anita is rude and a general smart aleck. Never could figure out her job. Poured my urine out before it could be tested. Was told she did the prior authorization forms. Some we could never get done. His nurse could not get my blood pressure so she said she was just going to say 120/80. Finally went to an Urgent Care. Had very high blood pressure and a UTI. Beware of this place. Looks and 5stars are deceiving.
Dr Abrams is an outstanding physician. He spends quality time with his patients. He never rushes through an exam and he actually listens to what his patient has to say. My husband and I both have been under Dr Abrams care for many years. He is an excellent diagnostician. We completely trust his opinion. He has an excellent reputation within the medical community. Not only is he a great physician, but he is a fine Christian man.
Up-to-date and thoroughly concerned about the patient. He has saved this patients life on 2 occasions. He follows the newest biological pathways which require study beyond his practice time. He has been recognized and served as Chief-of-Staff at the East Alabama Medical Center. He represents the best in Internal Medicine.
Do not put your trust in this doctor. After seeing him for many years for fibromyalgia, which he refused to diagnose, he referred me to a rheumatologist. That doctor never gave me any help or hope for treatment for fibro. After going back to Dt Abrams he prescribed Lyrica, which has horrible, and permanent side effects. And when I asked to be prescribed a treatment that was still experimental, but extremely promising for patients in a study at Stanford University for pain associated with fibro, he refused. With tears in my eyes, begging him to just let me try it, he still refused. So do not go to see this uncaring and overly conservative doctor. He only wants to treat people whom he can cure.
Dr. John Abrams is the finest internist in Auburn, bar none. He is responsive and efficient in prescribing medications and in offering referrals. He is excellent with patients of all ages and specializes in caring for the elderly (who love him).
I've been a patient of Dr. Abrams since 2002. A man of lesser compassion and courage would not have accepted me as a patient. He literally saved my life on at least two occasions. He knows his stuff, too. I often think he has most of the PDR memorized.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
