Mell Duggan's Online Review Report Card

I was referred to Dr. Duggan for treatment of kidney stones. He prescribed surgery. When I woke up the surgery had gone badly causing hemorrhage and leaving me with the stones and now the added pain of a stent that did not work and led to two weeks with a catheter. Eventually, he sent me for lithotripsy, which alleviated the problem. The reason I stayed, was due to his prescribing a medication that has solved my stone problem. He wanted to treat my BPH and we found that several medications did not work. I don't respond to many. Finally, we settled on one that I have been taking for a year. His office called to move my December appointment and obliged. Then they refused to fill my BPH medication! That leaves me nothing to treat the pain and discomfort of BPH through the holiday season! This insensitive doctor and practice should be avoided at all costs. I am moving as soon as possible!

My daughter saw Dr. Duggan for years. In the past year she saw him two or three times a month because of recurring kidney infections. He never found anything wrong. Then she wound up in the hospital with stage 5 kidney failure!!! How could he let it get to that stage and not notice?

Contrary to other reviews I have read, Dr. Duggan and his staff provided excellent care, and a concerned attitude. This was my first encounter with a urologist, but I would not hesitate to recommend this one!

Dr. Duggan is good and was appropriately worried about my condition. His office staff, it seems, has no sense of urgency. As a medical professional, one needs to realize that, to the patient, everything has a sense of urgency. Dr. Duggan would do well to counsel his office staff. I would go back for him, but his office staff make me need to be more proactive about my own care. So, to the office staff, when you complain that I am being pushy, ask yourself how you are contributing to that action.

Treated my BPH with laser surgery. Dr. Duggan impresses me as being competent and personable. His office staff is helpful, professional and caring, making a visit to the doctor's as pleasant as possible.

Dr. Duggan was totally dismissive of my symptoms and seemed to be more interested in getting to his next patient than actually taking the time to listen to my concerns. Had a test done to eliminate a possible cause of my issues and did not receive a call back with the results (all the while I am sitting on the edge of my seat waiting on results). Finally when I called his office a week later his nurses were very rude and insinuated that I was being unreasonable for wanting the results of the test I paid for. They said well if there was anything wrong they would have called me. When I did get my results my scores were below normal despite them telling me everything was fine. He and his staff are very unprofessional and lack any kind of compassion or bedside manner. I will never go back and will tell everyone that asks to never darken the doors of his practice. I will be finding another REAL doctor to treat me.

Will not return. Appt was made thru my Internist. Was kept waiting for more than an hour. Greeted with very derogatory, "Why are you here?" Inferred my Internist had overreacted and said, "If all this were true, we'd be having this conversation in an ICU somewhere." In follow up call gave completely misleading information.

His "nurse" will not call with the lab results. When you call 2 weeks later she trays to guess the plan of care and says she will ask the Dr and then doesn't call you back. A Dr is only as good as their nurses and the one says she will "axed" the Dr. Well who knows what she does! Finding another one!
