List of Joseph Wu's Reviews
great. Gradually things got worst. During an appointment visit he never came in to see me, but sent in his nurse practitioner (She was great!). I could hear him outside the door talking to others. Furthermore, he doesn't listen thoroughly and jots down trivial and incorrect notes in your files. I told him a prescription he gave me upsets my stomach, and yet he continues to encourage me to take it without any explanation or reasoning. I regret choosing him!
If you give him any less than 5 stars then you obviously don't know him as a doctor. Dr. Wu is hands down one of the best MD's in Birmingham. He is very attentive, has an awesome bedside manner, and damn good at what he does! I highly recommend Dr. Wu!
If I could not give him a star I would
I've been bringing my patient to see Dr. Wu for about 4 years. When we first started seeing Dr. Wu we would have given him a five star rating! But over the last 9 months or so we feel like Dr. Wu is no longer listening to our concerns, etc. He kept brushing off my patients symptoms, and if it hadn't been for us caregivers we would have never figured out what was going on with her health. Because we kept searching for answers. She was diagnosed with A-FIB at the ER that's when Dr. Wu finally referred us to Dr. Hanna who by the way is an excellent Doctor!! Dr. Hanna and his team listened to our concerns, and ended up having to put a pacemaker and watchman in my patient. We really liked Dr. Wu's Nurse Practitioner, but his other nurse can be a bit rude at times.
He cares...young, good guy to see. Thanks over the years.
I went to the Princeton emergency room for bleeding ulcer in which Dr. Wu was referred to me as I was looking for a new primary doctor. I am 78 years old, suffer from severe neuropathy, diabetes and forgetful at times. The first visit with him it was very noticeable as he rolled his eyes along with other facial movements that he was becoming frustrated at my lack of memory with doctors, years or on what procedures I had in the past. I did not feel comfortable at all. He scheduled me for a nerve test, which showed that the pain I told him about was true along with the difficulty I had with sleeping, he made only one adjustment to my medication. I was to change from two Lyrica daily to three and once I ran out of my medicine at home to give him a call back and he would send in the new prescription, which would be changed to the three a day. He made no changes to the new prescription and when I called his nurse back, she told me "he called it in what he wanted you to have". This is it?! This is all the help I get from Dr. Wu? So you know, I did take a young friend with me with each visit in order to make sure I remembered everything that was said in my visits. I read the good reviews he received, 3-5 yrs ago, he must have changed. Mr. Wayne Callahan
Dr Wu is an amazing doctor he has been my dr for several years
Dr. Wu is the most compassionate Dr. I have ever met. Also one of the smartest. I recommend him highly.
My husband and I both see Dr. Wu and are pleased with his ability and concern as our doctor. He is easy to talk to and answers all our questions. He was also my mother's and father'sdoctor until they went on hospice. I would highly recommend him.
He was extremely rude and condecending. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
