If you are a specimen of good health and in no hurry for an appointment this Bud's for you. If you are in need of a quick diagnosis, right or wrong, without having to go through a phisical exam and lab work, this Bud's for you. If you are in the emergency room and in need of an endoscopy ASAP, but don't care if it ever gets done, this Bud's for you. If you call for an appointment, but really want an earful of attitude, this Bud's for you. Yes, all of the above actually happened to me. Yes, they also did a few things right, but it was never smooth. Yes, there are many very good staff members who do their absolute best. I tried to be patient and understanding for many years but finally realized that getting medical care does not have to be this stressful. There are better options out there !!

Very thorough with helpful suggestions that are communicated on a level I understand.

On my initial visit, it seemed to go well. Unfortunately, Dr Shaffer failed to complete the proper testing to determine what what was causing all my health issues. I told him in extensive detail of what my body had endured for months. Including extreme diarrhea, stomach pain/cramps and weight loss. My diarrhea and cramps were so bad, it would wake me up throughout the night. Dr Shaffer immediately made an assumption of what my diagnosis was and his theory was proved wrong with testing. I had a stool study, but once again instead of ordering a full panel he only ordered what he thought was wrong. Once again, his theory was wrong. If he would have ordered a full panel for the stool study, I could have healed a month ago. Then I had a colonoscopy and he only had my biopsy test for microscopic colitis. This came back negative. So once again, his theory was wrong. I literally have lost over 20 pounds and I was thin to begin with. If it wasn’t for my internist stepping up and taking control of my problems I would be on my death bed at this point. My internist has prescribed me ivermectin for parasites which is what I told Dr Shaffer at our initial visit, but he completely ignored what I thought could be wrong and chose to pursue what he thought I had. All of his theories were wrong. My internist has completed numerous stool full panel studies and now has me on the road to recovery. No thanks to Dr Shaffer. So obviously, I do not recommend him for a gastroenterologist.

Dr. Shaffer is one of the best gastroenterologists, and I recommend him to anyone needing this type of medical specialist. He has done a couple of screening procedures for me over the years, and he, along with his team, have always been professional, answered any questions, and had a great bedside manner.
