Couldn't find a more caring surgeon than Dr McAlexander. He listens and answers all your questions. He is a number 1 surgeon. I was treated with care and respect, you don't find many doctors that give you respect anymore. If I ever have to have surgery on my heart or anything that he handles he is the man I want in the OR taking care of me. I would have given him and his office a 10 but 5 is all I could give. Thanks Dr McAlexander for taking such good care of me.

Dr. McAlexander was a pleasure to work with during my recent mitral valve replacement surgery. I appreciated his expertise, his candor, and his bedside manner.

Most attentive surgeon I’ve met and I’ve been a CVICU nurse for 7 years. He did an excellent job with my fathers CABG and was very present before and after surgery. Not only was he thorough but he was just as compassionate. Answering any and all questions we had. Can’t recommend him enough.

First I must give God all the glory for orchestrating my whole experience with Dr McAlexander and Staff! Outside of the SHOCK of having to have surgery, I don’t think that I could have had a more pleasing experience. From the time that I stepped into Dr. McAlexander’s office until completing my post-op visit, I felt a spirit of peace and assurance of being in “good hands”. Dr McAlexander’s nurse Genta, one of the most kind and experienced cardiac nurses that I have had the pleasure of knowing for many years reassured me that I was in “good hands”. Randall,one of his PA’s explained all of the anatomy involved with my case. He had a gentle and very complementing spirit while breaking the ice before meeting Dr. Mc Alexander. I’ve worked in many different departments of medicine for over 22 years. As a retired Radiologic Technologist, I’ve also had the opportunity to work with many of the top surgeons in this city. And to be honest, I found that some surgeons can be a real “butt”. NOT IN THIS CASE!! I found Dr McAlexander, fondly known as Dr. Mc to be totally opposite. He is a well learned and exceptional doctor. Underneath all of his accolades , he is patient, very detailed and assuring. For the sake of brevity. I will continue sharing with my post-op visit. Shortly after I was called back to be examined. Catherine PA, came in to do my examination. She was nice and thorough. I asked her what did she do during my surgery. In her words, “I assisted and closed you up”. Soon after I asked to see Dr.Mc because I didn’t know if I was going to see him too. Anyway, he came right in. It was the greatest experience ever after having MAJOR surgery. Dr.Mc explained EVERYTHING from the “rooter to the tooter”. He covered my diagnosis again , surgery , results , restrictions plus present and future care. Dr. Mac sat in that room with my daughter and I, in what seemed like forever. He answered every question with clarity! Soon after, we ended up laughing, seriously in stitches. And yes, Dr. Mc does have a strong sense of humor! If I had to choose three words to describe him, they would be compassionate, genuine and fun. Lastly , I would be remiss If I didn’t mention again his AWESOME team , office staff and CVSU staff , all of who compliment him very well. They really appear to have this special camaraderie. Dr.McAlexander saved my father's life I am forever grateful to him...my father was dead and he brought him back to life. He treated my family like we were his own. Excellent Dr. I highly recommend him to anyone for heart surgery...Thank you so much Dr. Mac you are awesome!!♥️♥️

Dr. McAlexander and his staff took such good care of my husband, from pre-admit testing, our questions, open heart surgery(triple bypass, aortic valve replacement and mitral valve repair), great coordination of care with En Habit home health care, handling our phone in questions, and todays final office visit, where he released my husband Tom from his care. You will be in good hands when you choose Dr McAlexander for your cardio thoracic surgery.
