My visit with Dr. Christie was short and very rushed. I went to Marshall Medical Center bleeding heavily from a cut. He treated me, but would not listen to me as I tried to explain how it happened. Because the cut was made with a rusty piece of equipment and I was rushed and not properly treated I ended up getting tetanus and having to have further treatment. I tried to explain that I was concerned about the sterilization of the wound, but Dr. Christie was rude, acted arrogant and brushed me off. Had I not been in a situation where I desperately needed help I would have sought it elsewhere. He is unkind and has a cold demeanor. He would not make eye contact with me and he actually rolled his eyes as I spoke to him. I would not recommend him to anyone else.
Rushed us and not friendly.
This doctor made my family feel like we were wasting his time by asking questions. In a situation where you are worried for the life of your loved one, a doctor who is cold and rude is not a good reflection for the hospital. Do they have no one reviewing their engagement with patients to be sure that they are kind humans and not just a doctor. Actually, this guy was beyond even that. He was just a jerk. When he muttered responses, barely audible it didn’t seem professional or like he was knowledgeable. We opted to have our mother operated on in a larger city in order to receive different care.
He was the house doctor at MMCS when my mother was in for congestive heart failure. He admitted to removing too much fluid from my Mom, then had her given a ridiculous amount of Benadryl for a heat rash. The Benadryl was so strong , Mom was in a semi coma. The Nurse saw what was happening and refused to proceed with this medication after she had great difficulty waking her. Mom's BP had gone down to 70. And, we had heard he was looking for gall stones and then asked him why he said that seniors sometimes get gall stones and they have to have their gall bladder removed. She was in for Congestive Heart Failure.
