My 1st time seeing him was very pleasant and a lot of information and gave me options before you decide if surgery is necessary if I had to have surgery I would want this man to do it thanks for a lovely office visit .

Dr. McNeal is a fantastic doctor. He is very kind and considerate of your situation and does his best to meet your needs. My husband was highly recommended to him by his doctor in Auburn for some discs problems that he was experiencing in his neck. The drive from Auburn to Dothan was 110% worth it. I can not express how thankful and grateful for the experience that we have had with Dr. McNeal.

I would recommend Dr McNeal but not his assistant (medical assistant) Vicki. She is rude and does nothing to help support the patient. I can send numerous messages only to see that she reads them and then Does not answers them. Trying to get any answers or help from her is almost impossible. He definitely needs a new assistant. I have had surgery and she passes the buck onto another staff member or another doctors office to keep from doing anything to help.

After presenting to SMC with severe lower back pain on Sunday a MRI was ordered. Diagnosis was a compression fracture L4. Dr McNeal explained what could be done surgical. He planned to review my previous MRI for comparison. Within 6 hrs I was in the OR suite. He explained what he was planning on and also gave me the opportunity to ask questions. He also explained the Laminectomy and suggested this also. My response was to do all that was necessary. I woke up 3hrs later feeling a lot less pain. Mostly from the surgery not what I was feeling prior. My incision is from L1 to S1. I was released 48 hrs from the time I came to the ER all fixed up. His personality in the ER and OR were welcoming, friendly and self assured.

Best doctor ever! Thankful he did my surgery. He has a compassionate heart!

He was in and out so fast, did not go over my MRI or explain much of anything. I really did not have much chance to form an opinion of him.

dr. McNeil was very nice he was not very thorough and it seemed like he was in a hurry. when you're in there with a neck problem and scared he was not very reassuring that I would be okay he did order test and I did follow up with them.

I was referred to Dr. McNeal and was suffering with severe back pain for 3 weeks. He listened to me, discussed my options, sent me directly to the hospital to prepare for surgery. In 26 hours I was on my way to surgery. When I woke up I felt no pain and was up walking within 1 hour of returning to my room. I've never met a more caring compassionate doctor like him. I would recommend him to anyone that suffers with back issues or any neurological issue. Thank you so much for helping me regain my life back. I couldn't have ask for a better neurosurgeon. I'd give him 10 stars if possible.
