Direct, knowledgeable, quick and professional.
I really liked Dr. Bonar, knew my symptoms immediately and diagnosis was accurate. Very grateful for her expertise. It’s sad to see because people felt offended they aren’t willing to give credit due to an actual doctor who doesn’t sugar coat truth or is considered “too blunt,” but is well qualified and factual.
If so could leave No Stars I would have. Has to be the worst practice ever. They were extremely rude from the phone call to schedule the appointment to the whole visit. I have never been made to feel so humiliated in my life. This doctor made me feel so belittled and I was not being heard my concerns were not being addressed. Instead she talked over me and at me. She bashed doctors I had 20yrs ago. Seriously who does that. This was the first time I have ever left a doctor appointment in tears. I will not be back
Ive been going to Dr. Bonar for years and will continue too.
I have a medical problem that 2 other medical professionals missed. It is something quite serious, and Dr. Bonar was the ONLY one who recognized this as a possibility. Thanks to her, I am going to the Cleveland Clinic to get it corrected. She's sharp, and I appreciate that she thought outside the box.
Does the yearly exam promptly, but when I explained I don’t want to be on BC, she told me there are minimal risks to the pill and it’s the ONLY way to regulate my period. She wouldn’t listen to anything I said and I ended up leaving with a birth control prescription. Very unprofessional and I will not be going back to her.
She failed with the same surgery twice. Could not answer why the surgery was failing. Would always tell I do not know...or may be........no self-confidence. Doctor without self confidence is terrible.
I definitely DO NOT recommend Dr. Bonar! She was very condescending during my appointment, and got offended when I told her that I wanted to take time to research treatments before I agreed to them. She told me that she was "the most reliable source of information" that I had, so I should just ask her my questions. She recommended that I go on hormonal birth control to regulate my menstrual cycles. I told her that I wasn't comfortable with the fact that hormonal birth control can cause miscarriages when it fails to prevent ovulation. She told me that my information was wrong, that hormonal birth control does not increase the risk of miscarriage. I've done a lot of research into this subject and so I know that it does (it thins the lining of the uterus so that if the birth control fails to prevent ovulation, and an egg is fertilized, the baby can't implant in the uterus). I explained this exactly to Dr. Bonar, in case she simply thought I was talking about miscarriage after implantation. But she still insisted that my information was wrong. So I gave up trying, and told her that she could send me whatever information that she had, and I would read it and make a decision later. So she sent me the information...AND IT LITERALLY SAYS that one way the pill reduces the risk of pregnancy is by "KEEPING THE LINING OF THE UTERUS THIN" (a.k.a., if fertilization occurs the fertilized egg won't be able to implant in the uterus, a.k.a., it causes a miscarriage)! And that's not even all the problems I had with Dr. Bonar. In addition to lying to me and discouraging me from doing my own research, she was also very dismissive and condescending, and made me feel as if I had no right to question anything she said. I will NEVER go back to her again!
She doesn't deserve one star. She almost cost me my life.
Very impatient and uncaring during my exam. Her medical advice seemed unreliable as well almost like she was guessing. She didn’t seem to care about my symptoms or me as a patient. I was very put off and called my husband crying after my exam. I got absolutely nothing out of that. Total waste of my time and money.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
