The office was prepared for my new patient visit. Ultrasound done and evaluated. Dr. Explained next steps, and made quick arrangements to address my problem.

Dr. Hurd is amazing. These negative comments does not sound like the Dr. Hurd I know and love. I had my c section on a Tuesday, was discharged that Friday, and that Monday I was admitted back into the hospital with a pulmonary embolism. I was not on the labor and delivery floor, but as soon as Hurd heard what happened he came to the floor I was on everyday to check on me. My blood pressure was horrible, I had a migraine that was causing me to vomit, and Dr. Hurd was the one who actually listened and not only did he knock out my migraine, he got my blood pressure back to being somewhat normal. I felt neglected by the hospital staff until Hurd took over. I was extremely scared considering I had two blood clots in my left lung, and no one explained anything to me, until Hurd took over. He assured me that I was going to be just fine. He made sure I got all of my medications on time, because before he took over the nurses wouldn’t bring my medications when they were suppose to, I had to wait. The nurses made me feel as if I was a burden. When I was discharged from the hospital a week later, I would have severe anxiety attacks and would think I had another PE and would rush to the ER just to make sure I was okay. When I told Dr. Hurd he told me to stop by his office when this happens that way he can check my vitals. He knew it was anxiety after having that happen, but some of the other doctors in the ER were not so very understanding. Dr. Hurd went above and beyond and he saved me. Yes, he’s someone that likes to joke around and make his patients feel like a friend and not just a patient. He has never been rude to me, nor has he ever brushed off my issues like it was nothing. He’s the best OB in this area.

I had a textbook, perfect, healthy pregnancy. Dr hurd gave me an ultrasound at 36 weeks (which I later found out isnt even necessary) and saw that baby looked small. He immediately decided he was going to induce me not even a week later. He never presented it as a choice or listened to my concerns. He ordered 1 additional stress test (no additional ultrasound or anything) and everything came back perfect and normal. Regardless, he went ahead with inducing me. Baby came out 3 lbs heavier than what he guessed. But struggled for weeks with the affects of being induced early, and made the birth traumatic for me as well. He mentioned being induced several times earlier in my pregnancy and knew it was against my wishes. Not only was he grossly incorrect in medicine, but he was insensitive, rude, and unkind. His choice of conversation not even 1 minute after birth was what birth control he was giving me in 6 weeks. He was LATE to my very active labor. At my 6 werks checkup he invited 2 other college students to watch me have an IUD inserted without even asking my permission to such a private appointment. All around a terrible doctor. Protect this sacred moment in your life and find someone better! I wish I had!

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! I had a horrible experience with Dr Hurd. During my c section in 2018 he caused severe nerve damage. I was in excruciating pain for months and he was rude, condescending and treated me like an idiot every time I went in to tell him about it. He FINALLY did a surgery to “correct” the pain 8 months later; made it worse AND removed my ovary (completely unnecessary) after I specifically told him not to remove either of them bc I wanted a second opinion in that case. Needless to say I’ll never see him again. I’ve had to have SIX surgeries since my botched c section over the last 3 years by 4 different surgeons. Only one of them was able to help me a little. 3 years later and I still have nerve pain most days, not to mention the fact that I may not be able to have any more babies thanks to him. Dr Hurd has horrible bedside manner, he and the anesthesiologist were very rude to me and literally laughed in my face and made fun of me for having a panic attack before they would let my husband in the operating room the day of my daughters birth. He completely ruined my whole birthing experience.

I have never had personal communications with this horrible doctor but I can tell you if I had the opportunity to fight to have his license revoked I would. My daughter had my granddaughter less than a month ago and unfortunately Mr Hurd was the doctor on call for the weekend she was there. Now know this is her first and only child, she and her husband were the only ones allowed in the hospital due to COVID. At first I didn’t like this but actually think now it is really good because it gives the parents bonding time. Well that is if the doctors set expectations and actually tells you what is going on and when. No one told them what to expect with the baby, how much she should eat, how many diapers to expect or is needed, when the baby needed to go to the nursery, that there were test to be ran in the nursery, what to expect when they went home - NOTHING. My daughter is no stranger to pain and has had ovary issues since she was 14. She is now 27. She is well aware of her pain levels. S

Dr. Hurd is an excellent doctor and a skilled surgeon. When I first moved to the area, he came highly recommended. I've been seeing him for 5 years and he delivered my youngest via c-section, and more recently performed a partial hysterectomy on me in which he left one single tiny scar above my belly button. Just one! I have been impressed by his knowledge and expertise, his kindness and friendliness, and his bedside manner.

We went to the hospital three times over two nights, each time begging to either be admitted or at least to be sent home with something for the pain or to help her sleep. Each time, Dr. Hurd told us with indifference, he would do nothing for us, to go home. I will tell everyone I can to never use Dr. Hurd.
