After two failed attempts to place a port (which I was told is a pretty simple surgery), I turned to another surgeon. Dr Cozart did not listen to my issues or give good reason for denying my requests. His bedside manner was awful. He blatantly told me my surgery was not an emergency and therefore not a priority to him. When I did my pre-op, I informed them that due to other medical issues, one item would look off, but it was actually fine. He refused to listen to me, insisting on canceling the surgery. I had to get my primary dr to explain to him that the numbers were fine. Dr Cozart’s office staff was good about returning calls, but they weren’t very friendly.

My mom has been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. Once Dr. Cozart found out were we not staying local he has completely became rude and short. He didn’t want to answer any questions we asked. He didn’t want to help her with the pain. She doesn’t leave until a week later and he told her he wasn’t doing any more for her she would have to go through cancer centers of America now.

He was very knowledgeable and spent time with me talking to me about the colonoscopy and what to expect. He was very pleasant and reassuring. If he is still here in 10 years I will come back to him. I would also ask for him if I have any surgeries to be performed.

I have had several surgeries with Dr. Cozart and I highly recommend him as a general surgeon. I have had 5 breast biopsies, gallbladder surgery (removed), had to have an endoscopy. He was wonderful and is very attentive to his patients and his staff is wonderful! I completely, highly trust him with any surgery I may need and I recommend him to anyone needing any general surgeries done.
