Use to really like this Dr but he’s not as thorough as use to be. Like all doctors now try to see how many patients they can go through in a day

Don’t aver call after hour he was not professional and was mad because he was call after hour I will never recommend him again

I just moved to town and this doc knows his stuff. Staff was friendly and efficient.

I saw him about 5yrs ago and have since been referred back to him for another issue this year 2020, Dr Wilkes is kind, understanding and through with his explanations concerning your issues highly recommend this practice for all Gastrointestinal issues.

Was referred to Dr. Wilkes by my Primary Care Doctor. Dr. Wilkes did a colonoscopy on me. When he got the results back his Nurse called and said the test came back negative. I asked her what I needed to do now because I've had my problem going on 2 months she said just get some over the counter medicine and use it. She sounded unconcerned about my problem honestly I thought she would get back with Dr. Wilkes and see what I needed to do and she didnt. Not impressed with my encounter with his practice

I would strongly urge everyone considering or already seeing Dr. Wilkes to find another doctor. Dr. Wilkes nearly cost my father his life. My father has UC and RA for which he has received infusions for several years now. He ended up with a very severe infection called Clostridium difficile (C. Diff.). Dr. Wilkes gave him an antibiotic and never checked to see if the C. Diff was cleared, before sending him back for an infusion. The infusions work for UC and RA by completely shut down the immune system. However, when Dr. Wilkes did not check to see that the infection was gone and ordered the infusion he put us in a very scary situation, one where I thought I may lose my father in a matter of hours. His white blood cell count went from 18,000 in Florence to 24,000 by the time we rushed him to Vanderbilt. Doctors there were very concerned that emergency surgery to remove the colon may be necessary. My father is still in the hospital 5 days later and the doctors are monitoring him very closely. ALL of this could have been avoided if Dr. Wilkes had done his job. Dr. Wilkes is careless, negligent, and in my opinion should not hold a medical license. Please, please, please drive the 2 hours to Vanderbilt. Your health is worth it!

Saw and liked his nurse practioner. She called for an EGD. He glanced at my chart for a half second, did the EGD, made a pronouncement that was completely wrong. Either she didn't chart what I told her or he didn't bother to read the chart.

I switched to a kind and compassionate doctor. I was very sick with diverticulitis and left his office in tears due to his uncaring and arrogant comments. His NP was excellent and the office staff was always helpful.
