List of Joseph G Moyer Md's Reviews
Dr.Moyer cares more about the clock and how fast he can get on to the next patient and then OUT of the office (before 4:30 pm on a Thursday when office closes at 5pm!) than he does about how you are actually doing as a patient. I have had four ANAPHYLACTIC reactions(1 in PMD office, 1 in the hospital, 1 on the road, and one at home) numerous reactions at home that cause hives, tongue swelling and facial swelling which I treat with liquid Benadryl and I have Epi pens on hand if I need them (prescribed by my PMD!) Each time I have told Dr Moyer about the anaphylactic reactions he has not been concerned- at all, which is extremely disturbing to me considering the fact that they are the reason why I was referred to him! I have been a patient of his for one year and as his attitude has only gotten worse as time has progressed I am now in search of a new allergy doctor- with the jaded opinion that they ALL will act the same way. What a shame
Dr Moyer has always done right by us... takes great care of my son and his staff has been awesome every time...
3 issues:Made new patient appt for my daughter on March 1st who had been in the critical unit of a medical center on a ventilator trying to recover from Anaphylaxis Asthma which almost killed her. Referred to an allergist, whom we called immediately. Issue 1: Had not received confirmation of appt. by April 2nd, so I tried to call several times without success. Finally sent an email. Auto email stated that my email was received and "someone" would respond "soon." On April 13th I had still not received a response or any new patient paperwork for our April 20th appt. Called and finally got a living person on the phone. Issue 2: Asked about new patient paperwork and was spoken to rudely and harshly....."we have a website you can refer to...." (ok, great, and had I been told that initially on March 1st, I would have done that - however, this still does not address confirmation of the April 20th appt.)Issue 3: Was referred to a leading Pulmonologist in Charleston, SC who stated that my daughter is a "complex case" who needs to be referred to someone higher up on the food chain - someone who deals with her dangerous type of allergy/asthma. This person is also a part of the Medical University of Charleston. At this time I voiced concern that I would not be able to drive 2.5 hours each way to Charleston 2x each week initially for the shots, and that even once a week would present problems, but was told that allergists/immunologists can administer the serum in their offices closer to where I live.Great! SO.......I asked this question and the receptionist responded, "no we don't do that, good luck" GOOD LUCK? REALLY?Not sure where she learned how to be professional, but she failed. As a person who has worked customer service, worked with children and adults as a teacher, and who has been a school administrator, I can honestly say that if she were working for me, it would be very short lived. I am appalled and disgusted as her lack of courtesy, professionalism, and judgement. I am only giving 1 star because Yelp requires a rating. This person as a direct representative of a medical facility should receive a no-star rating.
Excellent physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
