Rebecca Baskin's Online Review Report Card

As a provider, I recommended Dr Baskin to my patients. When I became the patient, I wanted the best doctor to care for me, so I chose Dr Baskin. Dr Baskin uses the latest research and evidence to base her practice. We were shown so much kindness, empathy, and the greatest care with my diagnosis by Dr Baskin, her NP, and nurse navigator, along with the other nurses and staff in the office. I feel Dr Baskin and her team made this the best possible experience and would highly recommend them to anyone. The Breast Health center showed such concern and dignity. Dr Baskin and her team helped coordinate each need and other disciplines needed with my diagnosis. I felt very well prepared with expectations and care after surgery. Dr Baskin is the doctor's doctor when it comes to breast health.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December of 2018. I saw Dr. Baskin and she took great care in explaining to me what kind of cancer I had and what my options were. She spent almost an hour with me during the first consult. I really wanted her to do my surgery but I needed to do some research on what my options were and had several appointments set up with some plastic surgeons. I decided on a breast lift at the same time as my lumpectomy, but unfortunately the PS I chose did not have privileges at the same hospitals as Dr. Baskin, so I had to find another general surgeon. I chose another GS and had the worst experience with him! He told me at our second ‘pre-op’ appt that my tumor was 2 cm, not 6 mm, which is what the original pathology showed. I was stunned. He just came in and wrote it on the board with zero warning or concern for me. He also didn’t want me to get a lift at the same time, even though I had researched it and decided it was the best option for me. I felt like I wasn’t being heard. Needless to say, I could not imagine going under this man’s knife. Zero trust. So I called Dr. Baskin’s office and she called me from her home. I told her everything that had happened and she told me even though she was leaving for vacation, she could do a lumpectomy just one week after my original surgery was scheduled. A total miracle. So I had it done this past week and I am so grateful to her and her entire staff, from the front office to the operating room to her wonderful nurse navigator, Kathryn, who had me laughing and encouraged me before and after surgery. I wouldn’t walk, I would run to this group of amazing people should you receive the unwanted diagnosis of BC. You couldn’t be in better hands. Oh and by the way, the tumor was 4 mm (smaller bc of the earlier biopsy) NOT 2 cm! It really does matter who you choose!!

I spoke with the receptionist today. I was a former patient of Dr. Baskins and I was due for a Mammogram. I was two years past due because of some personal reasons. This lady told me to call and get my records transfered to them. So I called and they told me Dr. Baskin needed to do that. I called Dr. B receptionist back and she told me that this doesn't always work and I need to not be so hasty, which I wasn't trying to be. She told me I shouldn't have waited so long. I told her,I'm sorry it was personal reasons. She proceeded to tell me she didn't care about my personal problems. I stayed calm and told her to "have a nice day." I hung up and cried. I don't care about even getting a Mammogram now! Dr. Baskin was so sweet but I'm not sure what has happened?😢 I thought being in the medical field means you care! My Mom had breast cancer and All four of her sisters so I am certainly higher risk because of that.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in Oct 2017. Dr Rebecca Baskin is an incredible surgeon, competent and professional. She handled it from my initial visit, biopsy, masectomy in Nov and my post op appts.Her staff are compassionate and kind which is so important during such a difficult and emotional time.She is worth the 180 mile round trip I make for every appointment from my home to her office in Franklin, TN.
