List of Elquis Castillo's Reviews
Saw the nurse practitioner and she didn't schedule a follow up appointment to discuss lab results. Had some results that were out of the normal range and she told me that I did not need to come back. She really insisted that I did not come back. When she did talk to me about what I went there for she went and printed information off of the computer. This was an awful visit.
Terrible bedside manner! He spoke to me and my mother in such a hateful tone. He got really offended when I wanted to seek a 2nd opinion for my mother. I WILL NOT be back in their office!!!!
Best cancer doctor around. He is also very patient, kind, and listens to what you have to say.
My experience with Dr. Castillo and his staff was full of personalized attention, a lifetime of study, continued education, and good judgment.
Had an appointment booked, had to miss work for it, then it magically got cancelled some how, with no notification to me so now I have missed work and still have to make an eye appointment with someone else, of course.
Dr. Castillo was very thorough, extremely intelligent and on top of that did a lot of research on my case alone. I was comfortable knowing my healthcare was in his hands. I would highly recommend him to ANY family member of mine.
When my mother was first diagnosed with a stage 2b cancer of the sigmoid colon I was terrified..Despite many years as a Registered Nurse it is always a shock to hear the word "cancer'. We were so very fortunate to have an excellent oncology practice in Gadsden, Alabama, led by the incredible Drs. Castillio, Garcia, and Harrison. The atmosphere is chock full of compassion, kindness, support, and clinical excellence. There is one flaw in this, otherwise, outstanding practice can be found in a Nurse Practicioner named Dena…Her consistent failure to request blood counts and assess my mother's white blood cell levels would have, certainly, led to my mother acquireing any number of infectious diseases. I had to take it upon myself to request/demand these simple tests and was horrified to see how low my mother's white count had fallen. She was, essentially, without a useful immune system and, were it not for my intervention, could have contracted a pathogen which have may well killed her. Despite my training as a Registered Nurse it is not my plasce to have to do someone elses job. Once confronted with my complaints, Dena found every manner of excuse or distraction to avoid the issue of her failure to assess, diagnose, and treat. These are the most basic elements of the 'Nursing Process" and she faileed miserably on multiple occasions. Avoid her at all costs. As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant it is my job to address the issue of physicians and nurses who fall below the standard of practice for the safety of the people who place their trust in their healthcare providers. Dena has shown that she has missed the mark on many occasions when it comes to the subject of standards of practice. Avoid her at all costs..Drs. Castillio, Garcia, and Harrison are at the top of their game and I respect them as individuals and as medical professionals.. You coulod not ask for more..The nurse you administer chemo and provide the daily care to so many patients are beyond reproach and I would gladly submit myself to their skillful and gentle care.. Dena? Not so much. I have worked for the SYlvester Cancer Institute at the University of Miami as well as The Cleveland Clinic-Weston, Mount SInai-Miami Beach, and Cedars Medical Center -Miami..I have had the privledge of working with the 'big boys' who are leaders in their fields. As a result, I know substandard practice when I see it..Dena has it written all over her negligent, unqualified, ignorant face.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
