Stephen Higgins's Online Review Report Card

This surgeon stabbed a hole in my heart, during an ablation, and I bled to death and flat lined for 3 minutes. My 3 day recovery turned into a YEAR recovery because they had to perform emergency open heart surgery on me because he stabbed a hole in my heart and they had to put a stitch in it to save me. I could not even get any pain and suffering fees because he fought tooth and nail in order to not get a "mal practice" on his record, in court. The man is an ass hole and has a god complex, I am thankful the back up cardiologist was there to save my life from this dumbass. Do not use this man, he is garbage.

I wish they had zero stars... Since I started seeing this doctor , I felt he is going to be a great help in my case. I got the impression that a guy with such a long experience in EP cardiology is the best one in his field. It turned out to be a nightmare.. Since he did my procedure and created a heart block (intentionally since he touched an area he was not supposed to touch according to 3 other EP cardiologists after him), my life has changed. I never felt the same. I am always worried and scared that my heart is going to stop. I started having frequent skipped heart beats which I did not have prior to the severely failed procedure. An hour after my discharge, after he told me he "fixed completely the problem" and "don't take any medications" I started experiencing severe symptoms and ended up going to ER for another nightmare. When I went back to my follow up appointment they performed an EKG on me and he did not come back to tell me the results. He was embarrassed to tell me he created a heart block. In brief, as an advice don't decide to have a procedure with this doctor before getting a second or even third opinion. I do not recommend him to anyone I love. It was a hard learning experience for me. I don't wish anyone to go through it even my ennemy. Hope this helps.

I would like to complement Dr Higgins for his informative website and truly kind and understandable staff. The most important of all Dr Higgins him self 'very well educated from the best school of medicine,extremely great with his patients when it comes to diagnostic of cardio vascular disease including AF. he is the best I have ever seen he is definitely a miracle Doctor people in San Diego should be proud of such a professional cardiologist. I would strongly recommend him to people in San Diego .
