List of Vipul T Amin's Reviews
He knew before my app that another Dr had seen me and I had told him that another dr had done a colonoscopy on me 3 weeks before my app. He run 4 test on me then when I done all the test his office calls and told me they wouldn't see me bc he does not do second opinions. I am not the only one he has done this to. Would not recommend him to anyone
I will never use Dr. Amin again and would never recommend to anyone. You call leave messages nobody will return your call. Had to ask for a CT scan they said they would schedule it that took over two weeks . Called them they forgot to call and schedule it. Now I have been waiting two weeks for Amin to read the scan. Called today and she said it was still setting on the desk and has not been read. Don’t seem to worried about my health! He is a joke I had to call and find someone in Birmingham.
Doc is amazing! Online hours are not correct. Answering service is nasty and unacceptable. Told me that line was for emergency only and hung up on me.
If asked any other time, I would have given a 5 star review, but after my experience today, i feel even a 1 star review is an over exaggeration. As a long time patient of Dr. Amin, I needed to set up an appointment to follow up on some medication. It took me three voicemails and two weeks of calling non stop before I FINALLY was able to speak to someone that could get me scheduled. I let them know of my insurance change, and got my scheduled appointment. After driving an hour to the office, they then informed me that I had to get a referral from my family practitioner before I could be seen in the office. After asking them why this wasn't told to me on the phone when I told them I had an insurance change, they're response was, "I'm sorry, but it looks like you're going to have to reschedule your appointment until after your referral." As I gathered my things to leave, the lady at the desk had the audacity to chase me down the hallway and ask for her clipboard back. The fact that she showed more concern over a clipboard than my time, money, and overall value as a patient & client spoke volumes. Instead of leaving the office with a much needed GI medication prescription, l left in tears instead. If you want to be treated as less important than a plastic clipboard, then this is definitely the place for you, but if professionalism, integrity, and overall value of your time and being treated as a human are important to you, then I strongly suggest that you find someone else to take your money. Dr. Amin himself is excellent, but it says a lot about the overall bedside manner of an office when the front staff doesn't even care enough to treat you like you're human.
Horrible staff / customer service. I called after my husband was discharged from Gadsden Regional and told to follow up with a GI, discharge papers had 3 referrals on it, I called this one, left a message with my husbands details and a call back number. A short time later I received a call back. As soon as started talking about the situation, the lady rudely cut me off and quickly stated, "Dr. Amin doesn't take any patients without a referral from their primary care doctor. That's our office policy we only take referrals so we can't schedule an appointment." I couldn't even get it out that we had a referral, but oh well, she hung up and I went to google. I feel like this was a blessing in disguise, because based on the reviews I read, we don't want to wait forever to have results, my husband needs urgent care. I decided to check and see if my insurance (BCBS Federal) even requires a referral for a specialist and nope, sure doesn't. Looks like Dr. Amin could've made some more money, but instead his office policy is for his staff to be too lazy to take 5 minutes to speak to the potential patient and see if their insurance even requires a referral.
Dr. Amin is one of the best Gastroenterologists I have been to. I have been going to him for over 15 years. He has done my colonoscopies & gall bladder surgery. No complaints whatsoever. Very thorough.
Highly recommend and encourage you to find another Gastro. Staff is completely useless!
Dr Amin is a great doctor, he has many many patients (because he’s the best) but when you’re in front of him, you feel like his only patient. He is mindful of what you have to say and is very professional and knowledgeable. I have nothing but good things to say about him & his staff.
One of the best doctors I've ever had. He has always listened and gone above and beyond in trying to diagnose and treat my issues.
My husband and I have both had procedures by Dr. Amin recently. He and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and kind to work with. He came highly recommended by several physicians before we scheduled our procedures. All around, a very good experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
