List of Maria Bennett's Reviews
Dr. Bennett herself is great. But her staff is unorganized, rude, and dont communicate well. I recommend a different office.
I have seen Dr. Bennett for years. She is a calm, intelligent, personable and very down-to-earth doctor. She is a good listener. I’m very happy to be in her care.
Best doctor ever! I'm 41 and have been seeing her since I was a teenager.
Wow! I am not one for bad reviews, but.... I am a New patient and I sat there for an hour only trying to get a referral to see a Dr. I got there early like they ask and it wasn't busy. That's the bad thing. I really thought this place was going to be awesome. Unorganized by far. Really disappointed in this service. My husband referred me,so not a good experience for first time.
Dr. Bennett was super helpful, and both she and her staff are very polite.
I love the Staff thay are very nice and caring when you call them they is very helpful for your needs. If I could I would give them a 10 🌟
High hopes, terrible service. Being new to the area I researched local doctors and from what I've read Dr. Bennett is amazing. Tried calling to see if she was available for an appointment and the receptionist Allison was extremely rude. Was very short with me as if I were wasting her time so I hung up and will find a physician elsewhere.
1-1/2 yrs I tried to establish a Dr/Patient relationship w/this dr. After initial visit I could NEVER get another appt w/her. Always told, "Go to the ER if you have a real medical issue." (You don't always need an ER visit even if very sick. You just need your doctor! ) Even w/2 cases of diverticulitis, they would not let me see her, nor simply just send my pharmacy the antibiotic I'm given for this. Hubby got on the phone 2 dif. days begging for an appt b/c I became worse by the day, running 104 fever & in severe pain. Next time this happened the ER dr wanted to know why I didn't just call my PCP for the appropriate antibiotic. I told him SHE sent me to the ER! And he wanted to know who my dr was!! When I said Dr Bennett he said, "MARIA Bennett?? I know Maria.. know her well. I'm going to call her, b/c this ER trip was so unnecessary for you!" I hope he remembered to call b/c I was so bad after 7 days begging for an appt, he admitted me & had an ambulance take me to Bessemer Hospital.
First time appointment. Been waiting over an hour to get seen. Barely any patients in the office. Not impressed. 😒
10/10 would NOT reccoment Dr.Maria Bennett. Dr.Bennett does not communicate with her patients well, nor does she show any interest in their health. My mother is a new diabetic (diagnosed about a year ago) and recently had a jump in her A1c which concerned all of us but Dr.Bennette herself. She did not ask what changes were made in the past 3 months to explain the jump in her A1c; in fact, I asked her during the appointment if she at all wanted to know what my mothers diet was consisted of just incase there was something she was doing wrong and we then got a, "Oh okay, sure, tell me". This is just one issue of the may we've had with her thus far. After being fed up with Dr.Bennetts lack of care, went to an Endocrinologist (because we needed answers to a few questions which Dr.Bennett didnt provided even when asked) who stated that my mother was actually misdiagnosed (so shes type 1 instead of type 2 diabetic) and the medication (which costs MORE than 500 a month) is not helping her diabetes at all and this SHOULD HAVE BEEN CHECKED at the time of her diagnosis. If you're a compliant patient and you care about your health more than your PCP does, there is a HUGE problem. She is a nice person...but that's not enough when my mothers health is in your hands. We started off with her NP Bonnie Moore who was 10x the provider Dr.Bennett is and ever will be. Please take your loved ones to another provider if you care about their health because Dr.Bennett sure does not. Also, her Nurse is VERY rude. I understand we all have bad days, but you cant possibly have a bad day everyday and you cant "accidentally" type in all caps through the patient portal either. If it wasnt obvious already, we have fired Dr.Bennett as my mothers PCP. Thank you for joining my ted talk, folks!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
