Dr. Garcia is amazing, and the check out process is very good. The glaring issue is the check in process. As soon as you step off the elevator you have to navigate a slew of people backed up at the check in desk. There is a maximum of 4 stations for checking in patients for the entire clinic of providers. It regularly takes me 5-10 minutes of standing in line just to get checked in. Make sure you allow time for this or you will be late for your appointment. Kiosks with electronic checkin for returning patients would be SO helpful, and I don't understand why this office hasn't implemented. The patient portal also isn't very helpful as it doesn't contain specific details and records. You can't really get any information here to share with other providers. Vanderbilt's patient portal is a role model portal for patient and provider usability.

I was really pleased with Dr Garcia. She was very caring. Sports Med is the best.

Everyone was great. I really liked Dr. Garcia! Then I got to the lady that scheduled my next appointment 😖, she must have been having a very bad day. She is the only person that I have ever met at SportsMed who was cranky.

Dr. Garcia-Cardona and her staff are exceptional clinicians, experienced and caring. I had right ankle reconstruction in 2015 and to this day I have had no lingering problems. I am now seeing her for my left ankle and foot. Professional, great bedside manner and an athelete in her own right. Besides being a great physician she has the sports knowledge needed to treat sports type injuries with the goal to get you back up and competing, no matter your age. I highly recommend Dr. Garcia for your ankle/foot injuries.

I don’t feel like I got the warm, caring, friendly and welcoming gestures from the staff that I guess I was expecting. Moving from out of state 2 months ago everyone I have come in contact with in Alabama has been extremely friendly until my experience at SportsMED. Everyone seemed like robots, like they were there just to get a job done and it was a routine thing for them. I don’t think I got a single name or introduction from anyone. I don’t feel like anyone explained to me what was going on. I just kept getting passed around to different areas. I sat around a hour after my appointment time before I got called back. I don’t feel like it was the typical Alabama welcoming feeling like I have gotten from other businesses since moving here. I would like to go some where else for a second opinion, continued care and hopefully a better experience.
