Don’t know if Dr Stevens is a great doctor or not but his staff is surely rude and uncooperative. It is impossible to get a new patient appointment without “records” and the staff is totally unwilling to assist in the records transfer. When I asked for an appointment with one of the groups general ophthalmologists in order to get a “referral’ to Dr. Steven’s I was refused that also. When I asked to speak to the office manager I was always told she wasn’t there and my messages to her were never returned. After repeatedly calling asking about the status of my records transfer or their assistance in getting them the office manager “Tammy” was suddenly there and called me back.. She told me I was rude and to go find another doctor. That turned out to be great advice and well deserving of a one star review. Otherwise I would have to give a zero star review.

Dr. Stevens is fantastic, as well as Shaina! He's caring, EXTREMELY knowledgeable and thorough in his exams, and detailed in his notes. I was very worried about having to drive to Nashville or Birmingham for a good specialist when I originally relocated to Huntsville, but I was pleasantly surprised to find such an exceptional glaucoma specialist in this small city.

Dr. Stevens is one of the best eye doctors I've ever had. He's extremely knowledgeable and caring. The only down side is his schedule is packed. Don't plan on rescheduling if you don't want to wait months.

Do recommend Dr. Stephens! Over the past ten years he has seemed thorough in his examinations, caring in his demeanor, accurate in predicting future problems, effective in treatment provided, and spot-on in recommendations of doctors in two related specialties who provided effective treatment as recommended by Dr. Stephens.

I've been with Dr. Stevens for about nine years now and he is a very great doctor. His staff is very courteous and are very patient with me. Once, when I was five, I kicked all the nurses because I was afraid of eyedrops and my mom took me home, but the next time I came I was greeted with friendly smiles(: Although the wait is very long its worth the wait!(:
