A real blessing in disguise happened to me today. I thought I had staph infection in two places. I needed to see a doctor and I haven't had insurance in a long time.I'd heard about Quality of Life in Gadsden off an on for years. I figured I'd give it a shot since I had nothing to lose, and I have found the best doctor with the nicest staff I've ever met anywhere. Dr. Herrera is a rock star 🤩We all know I'm "The Original Fat Chick", lol. Didn't bother him a bit. He didn't try to send me off for bariatric surgery like so many others have tried to do. He came in the exam room, introduced himself, I introduced myself, we shook hands, and got down to business. He really listened to me. I know all about every chronic condition I have. I don't google symptoms, but I google diagnoses. We had a good conversation about my medical history and what needed to be treated right away. He sent the prescriptions I needed to their pharmacy, which costs less, and I was given forms to file with UAB to be able to have more testing and see specialists based on my income.Dr. Herrera and his staff don't look down on you or treat you any differently just because you can't afford insurance. They are there to really help people. That was refreshing in itself. Then I was told I needed lab work to check my kidneys. I told them I can't afford lab work. Up there, through Quality of Life, I was able to. They offer medical treatment, lab tests, pharmacy, a dentist, psych services, and eye doctor, all on a sliding scale based on income. What a blessing!I really like Dr. Herrera. I think I have found my new family doctor, and I am so happy to be this blessed. If nothing comes up wonky with my labs, I go back in a couple of weeks. For the first time in a long time, I'm actually looking forward to seeing the doctor. Thank you, Lord!
I have been seen by doc Herrera for 8 plus years , ever since all the false acuzations were made ...there was damage left to rumble through I know for him I'm sure but also for the paintents, plz get in touch with me some one from the practice thank you in advance.
What a wonderful dr. Could have lost him years ago. One great diagnostician. Thank you, dr.
Dr Herrea is a brilliant MD. The Alabama Board of Medicine has treated this man horribly. Let me tell you about Dr H. My uncle had numerous pain issues from an auto accident. Dr H put him on OxyContin and it turned him from a recluse to an amazing turn around. My uncle turned into a human being again, getting out and about Every day.I am so embarrassed to tell people I practice in Alabama because of the way they have treated Dr Herrera. No he didn't train in the US, he trained in Madrid, Spain.
He really cares about his patients!
I have been in the medical field for 30+ years and I've been very fortunate to have learned from some of the best resident & attending physicians in the world. I trained at the University of Alabama Hospital & The Kirklin Clinic in Birmingham,Alabama (late 80's & early 90's). I am taking time to write this review because people seldom reward excellent physicians but will readily post negative things. It became very clear that Dr.Pascual ( "Dr Pat") Herrera,M.D. was,and is, a notch above the rest. His medical knowledge base is outstanding. We all know that, as in other professions, a solid knowledge base is required for future learning. I think I can sum it up by saying this:"I would choose Dr. Herrera as my personal physician AND would want him to be my family members' physician as well". Thank You for providing this opportunity to express my personal experience & observations. Very Sincerely & Respectfully, Dr.Barry Burns (Cherokee County Alabama)
He is the best and he knows what he is doing he is a smart man and don't have the GOD complex like so many do he will listen to you if u need a dr see Dr.Herrera,,,,
