I instructed my son to report to this location on the evening of March 9, 2023 because based on his phone call to me, I was concerned that he either had a UTI or rhabdomyolysis. After a urine test, he was told that he did have rhabdomyolysis and that he needed to go home, hydrate, and not exercise until the following week. I knew that this was inappropriate advice so I had him go to American Family Care the following day for a second opinion. Rhabdomyolysis should always be taken very seriously and I was not comfortable with his level of care. After a second confirming urinalysis, the Nurse Practitioner immediately sent him to the ER while questioning why he wasn’t sent the night before. His CK levels were so high that he had to be admitted. His kidneys and liver were both under stress and could have gotten much much worse. As a pharmacist, thankfully I knew to seek help elsewhere. Others may not have been so fortunate and that greatly concerns me. As I write this, he is still in the hospital patiently enduring blood draws and hoping his levels drop and his liver and kidney function continue to improve. I sincerely question the protocol followed during that visit but am hopeful that he has suffered no permanent damage.

Everyone greets you very friendly from the time you come in the door to the time you leave. They are very through in their assessment and check anything possible they think it could be while you are there so you don't have to have return trips. I like how you can go online and set a time and when you arrive they are ready for you within minutes so you don't have to wait. My only wish is that they were a primary care also, that way they could do referrals for you.

Normal first time visit paperwork. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I was seen right away. I got a steroid shot in the office and two prescriptions for a bad reaction to poison ivy. Very happy with the visit.
