Dr. Robert Oakes assisted Mr. Mathew Johnson, in the cardiac lab for my TAVR, I was asleep during the procedure, but I was told everything went well. At 2 weeks I feel they both saved my life, that day. I come from a background of heart and stroke parents and grand parents, on both sides of my family and feel very blessed to have been referred to Dr. Mathew Johnson and Dr. Robert Oakes for this procedure. Dr. Oakes took my surgery when the scheduled surgeon in another town cancelled. I am convinced that this was most fortunate. Dr. Oakes, indeed everyone who assisted on my surgery, was careful, considerate, and caring. I have a lot of admiration for Dr. Oakes, especially after reading about him. Great man, great hospital.

Dr. Oakes and his staff put me at easy when explaining my open heart surgery. He was kind and compassionate. He was very willing to answer any questions and didn't act like I was taking too much of his time. He also took the time to talk to and meet with all of my family after surgery. He stopped in my room every day while in the hospital, which included both weekend days. He seems to be extremely committed to his profession and his patients.
