Not a caring staff- They just want your $$ This doctor seems very thorough & caring when we visited him. My problem is not with him, but his office/staff. After my son threw up nearly every day for 3 months & trying several acid reflux meds with no relief, Dr. P scheduled my son for a scope of his stomach and an ultrasound of his abdomen. The whole ordeal at Women’s and Children’s was total chaos & they didn’t even have him scheduled for both tests. The scope revealed nothing and he was diagnosed with abdominal migraines, since we have family history of migraines. There was really no treatment recommended & they sent us on our way. No follow ups recommended. Cade had since had cycles of headaches & mild vomiting once or twice a month for 1-2 days.The school has a strict attendance policy that only allows 4 parent yearly, but will let us write more with a chronic illness/ ailment letter from the dr, which Dr. P’s nurse refuses to provide. They need to assess him again she says. Assess what?!? I just want a letter of diagnoses.

He threw up nearly every day for 3 months straight, and we do have a family history of migraines. My son has since had cycles of vomiting for a day or 2, once or twice a month since visiting him. We were not told to come back, as I don’t think there is really anything they can do to treat the condition, or than trying antihistamines. The schools have implemented a new strict attendance policy and only allow 4 parent notes per year, and want a letter saying that my son has a chronic illness or ailment to accept any more parent notes. When I called Dr. Ponnabalam’s office to get the letter, they refuse to write it because he hasn’t been seen by them since he was as diagnosed with the migraines. We were not told to come back, so why would we? There’s nothing they can do for abdominal migraines. So you pay all this money for tests to basically be told there’s nothing they can do for you, and send you on your way. AND to top it off, they won’t write a letter for proof of having the condition?? WHY? They want us to scheduled an appointment to be assessed. For what I don’t know? He has already been assessed and determined what he has. This would cause him to miss even MORE schoool. I’m not going to start the process all over again, to AGAIN go through thousands of dollars in tests, to receive no treatment that can help him. You can’t see his migraines, and they won’t be happening at the appointment, so the only reason they could want this is to make more money off of us. I’m very disappointed with this office. Absolutely no help whatsoever.

Dr. Ponnambalam is a life saver! After months of going to doctors to find out what was wrong with my newborn baby he found out within seconds! Also, nurse June she is so sweet and is willing to help

Dr.Ponnambalam is an amazing doctor. He is very thorough and compassionate. He is caring and has a great bedside manner. He listens and takes the time needed for his patients. He answers any questions and explains things so that you can understand. He helped my son go through a very difficult time in his life when he was diagnosed with IBD. He used his expertise and great judgment and turned a bad situation into a hopeful one. He worked with my son and found which medicines worked better for him. We highly recommend him. My son has seen him for 6 years. I wish he could see the kids after they turn 18. His nurse June is terrific! She follows through and was always on top of insurance problems. They are both a joy to be around!!!

I was stuck in traffic. I called ahead and was told to come on that I had a 15 minute grace period. I stood in line at 2:15 to waiting to sign in. I was sat down and waited another 10 minutes. A receptionist was sent to tell me I would not be seen. My daughter has been vomiting blood off and on. We desperately needed this appt. It said a lot to me for a doctor who wouldn’t take 10 minutes out of his time to see a suffering baby! We will not be back!

Dr. P. is the greatest!! I highly recommend him. He always gave the best info regarding my child's illness. I hate he's only pediatric...

The nurse is rude and acts like you are stupid. The Dr did not want to do anything to figure out what was wrong. He blamed my 7 year old for what is going on with her. Which is not the case it took traveling 4 hours to a new Dr to find what is wrong.

Very nice and listens and takes the time to evaluate. Highly recommend this doctor. Never had any problems. nurses are very nice as well

Excellent dr with compassionate bedside manner. He Made our 8 year old daughter comfortable about during an uncomfortable visit/subject. The waiting was long, but well worth it to have him.
