As others stated, the physicians are fine; however, we have been greeted twice by an armed guard at the door who questioned us about why we were there and what we needed to the point that I almost left. Bringing a 94 year old to the doctor is no easy task and this man is just over the top. Why does a doctor's office need such a person at the door?? If they don't address this nonsense I will absolutely stop going. I also have horrendous trouble getting to talk to the nurse. In 2021 NO ONE has time for antiquated phone tag waiting for a nurse to call. Signed up for the portal. Useless as a tool to communicate with the provider or nurse.

I started going to Mobile Diagnostic on Hillcrest because my Dr on SpringHill had retired. My PCP for the past 7 years has been Dr. Barbara Mitchell. She has great bedside/patient manners. She doesn’t make you feel like another number but like she cares. She’s thorough and nice even if it’s not the greatest news she’s delivering. Her nurses(Erica)and assistants(Cynthia Snow)that I’ve dealt with have been extremely friendly and respectful. They respond quickly to electronic messages about questions and refills. Each Person I’ve come across from the check in , lab, and imaging have been kind and respectful.

Obviously I’m only leaving a review because I had a bad experience. Id like to imagine that the physicians are great, unfortunately I wouldn’t know because I couldn’t make it past how frustrating and unhelpful everything prior to them was. I think that perhaps if you don’t need anything done in a timely manner then I’m sure this place could work fine.The story goes: Tore my Achilles. Had Insurance A which did not require a referral so I went directly to an orthopedic surgeon who said let’s get an MRI and proceed with surgery. Over the weekend Insurance B starts in which now does require a referral. Full stop on everything. I’m stumping around in a boot. Fine- no big deal right? I have an orthopedic surgeon recommending surgery, I’ve got current X-rays, I’m established with this physician- all I need is a quick chat and a “we recommend an MRI”.Called for a tele health appointment Monday morning as recommended by their website. Was told that my PCP does not do telehealth appointments… you are aware we’re in a pandemic? WHY would you want ortho referrals walking in and out of your doors all day??But Okay fine.Next available in person slot is in 2.5 weeks.Is there another PCP I can see? Yes in 2 weeks.Another telehealth doctor? NoConclusion- Switched to Alabama Medical Group, the staff were helpful and polite - I got an appointment and the referral I needed the next day. I think DMC is just too big at this point to actually take care of anything other than cholesterol screenings. Take your health somewhere else IMHO.

I normally don't post reviews or anything like that, but my experience with this "clinic" today has definitely pushed me to do so. The wait times have always been atrocious, but that is pretty much the norm for this place so I just accepted it like you would knowing that almost every time you get your order from a fast food restaurant something is going to be wrong, and the analogy is not that far off. My real issue is with my ex "doctor," as of the date of this posting, and his "nurse." They are quacks and a joke. Without stating too much, I would really recommend going to another clinic if you want your health evaluated properly.

I personally don’t understand the negative reviews. This place was fantastic from start to finish. I was seen by Dr. Amato as a new patient yesterday and was so happy with him as a doctor. The ladies at the front desk were so sweet and personable. My appointment was at 8:45 and I was called back at 8:35 because I was there early. Dr. Amato’s nurse (not sure of her name but she was a young brown headed girl) was super nice as well. I’m definitely glad I’ve found this place. I feel like I’m in good hands and that’s such a comforting feeling!

I went to Hilcrest Diagnostics this morning for a test and these ladies were in full protective garb in 90 plus degree weather!! They were kind and friendly. Did I mention oh so gentle.Thank you from my ❤!!

Basic information that has been handled by my previous Doctor was not handled correctly here. The Doctor I dealt with was curt and unhelpful and cause me to have to return to a doctor an hour away from me just to handle a simple paperwork issue. Some.of the doctors there may be wonderful and great people but not the one I dealt with. The nurses out front were very helpful though and very nice. But the one who worked for this doctor wasn't. One bad apple spoils a bunch, All I have to say about. Never going here again.

Dr. Simpson is a great doctor. Unfortunately, he has signed a contract with an absolutely idiotic organization.#1. If you have any blood work or tests done, Mobile Infirmary Hospital charges you a lab fee even if they do absolutely nothing. They are billing you and your insurance company for services not provided. They also have a tendency towards creative accounting. When you go to the desk to pay your copay, they tell you that you owe money for a previous visit, even when you do not owe them anything. (Two months after we had paid all allegedly unpaid charges from my wife's previous visits, AND had the billing person write on the receipt "Account Paid in Full", Diagnostic & Medical Clinic said we owed $120+.) I wonder how many patients have been bilked out of thousands and thousands of dollars by their creative accounting department.#2. I was scheduled for an appointment today at 1:00 p.m. When I arrived, I was told my appointment wasn't until next week. The desk clerk checked with someone in the back, and I was told me the doctor had a family emergency and that the nurse had called my phone number and spoke with someone about rescheduling the appointment. I have caller I D, an answering machine, and voice mail. I received NO phone calls from any Mobile Infirmary number. Apparently, lying to their patients is a common practice for Mobile Infirmary and Diagnostic & Medical.If you decide to use the services of Mobile Infirmary, please be aware that the doctors and nurses are great, however you will be lied to by the other staff members and you and your insurance company will charged for services not provided. I really think someone should file a class action lawsuit against them. I might just call an attorney myself.

WE LOVE DR. MITCHELL!...But we HATE Diagnostic Medical! I set an appointment for my son on July 25 and the soonest appointment was October 18. We think Dr Mitchell is worth the wait. BUT today, October 2, they called back and wanted to reschedule for December 31! This coupled with previous bad experiences (nurse not returning calls, not giving important test results—and my son got very sick with an untreated infection, waiting for hours after an appointment time to finally be seen, being charged for a Wellness exam and having to fight for the refund, rude staff, rude nurse, the weird guard that had to “escort” me into the building like a criminal during night clinic hours......THE LIST GOES ON) has made this doctor just not worth it! I found my son a new doctor TODAY....and, WOW...I’m so happy! The doctor is 5 star and the representative at the counter said the doctor can see him in 2 weeks! WHAT?! I’m leaving along with my son....we found out that WE HAVE MUCH BETTER CHOICES....Thank God! Goodbye Dr. Mitchell—we love you! When you escape that horrible clinic, maybe we will see you again. You deserve a nice, cozy, organized, professional, clean, happy little clinic like the one I found today!
