DOCTOR SMITH DID MY 1 GRUBERG SURGERY SHE DID A EVERY GART JOB
Very competent surgeon. Very poor patient management. Asks you to be in her office at a certain time and then makes you wait hours. If you don't already have high blood pressure you will after spending time in her office or outpatient surgery. That is the only complaint.
Dr. Smith did surgery on me, I experienced pain afterwards and she offered no real solution. I originally went in for a hernia repair surgery. Dr. Smith was very polite and informative in the consultation for the surgery. After that though things went south. After the surgery, I hadn't seen Dr. Smith until the 4th month of still feeling pain despite making multiple appointments to see her. Instead I had to explain my problems to Rachel, her nurse, who continually told me everything was normal and to just give it more time and refilled my prescription of Mobic. This surgery typically should only take 2 weeks to recover from, and yet at the 2 month mark I was being told that it just needed more time and this was normal. Mind you, I have a career that requires me to be somewhat active and on my feet. This surgery impaired my ability to walk any distance at all or be on my feet without feeling pain in my groin, abdomen, and behind my thigh. Finally, when I did see Dr. Smith, she told me at this point she will typically send patients to pain management. Pain management! I'm a 25 year old healthy male who was very active before this surgery, and if it was up to Dr. Smith I would just continue to band-aid the pain instead of offering a real solution to the problem. She offered to do an exploratory surgery if I wanted, to maybe scrape out scar tissue when the problem was the nerve to begin with. She also acted very nervous in the appointment acting as though I thought she did something wrong in the surgery and said I'm her first patient to experience chronic pain from this surgery. I don't hold anything against Dr. Smith and I think she is a good doctor but just maybe inexperienced. I am now seeing a different doctor who has identified the problem and has made a plan of action for my best bet to get rid of the pain.
I was very impressed with Dr. Smith! My surgery was performed by Dr. Ringold, whom i loved and was very impressed with, but an appointment wa made by thr nurse in post op for a check 6 days after my surgery to check the incision, check and change the dressing. I was under the impression from the post op nurse that i would be seeing one of the nurse practioners in the office, but when i arrived for my appointment, the receptionist told me that i would be seeing Dr. Smith for this appointment. I was very impressed with her sensitivity, knowledge, compassion and overall bedside manner and demeanor! I still love Dr. Ringold, my surgeon, but would definitely see Dr. Smith again if Dr. Ringold was not available. I have been very impressed with all of the staff an am grateful that they were there when I needed them!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
