List of Shannon M. Gilmore's Reviews
Dr. Gilmore is amazing! Truly the best doctor I've ever had in Mobile. She is direct, to the point, and will do whatever it takes to get her patients the help they're looking for.
I stopped going to her after I had enough of her arrogant demeaning behavior. The last straw was when I asked for a CA125 blood test to check for ovarian cancer, and she told me insurance would not pay for it. I acknowledged that, and said I don’t mind paying for it myself for peace of mind with the problems I was encountering. The nurse came in and took some blood and I noticed it was only one tube. I asked the nurse if they were going to use the same tube to do the CA125 test. She told me that Dr Gilmore said I was not getting that test. I then went to my GP, and he did the test with no problem at all. Shocked by the continued gruff behavior, I asked a friend of mine who I had referred a number of years ago about her experiences. She said that she had referred her sister as well, and that when her sister was in the hospital for some gyno surgery, she asked Dr Gilmore about a lump she was concerned with. Dr Gilmore rudely told her in front of everyone in the room that she was fat. That resulted in two more former patients going elsewhere.
Great doctor. I love how she takes into consideration what I need and offers helpful options
Nice and through Dr She knows what I need!
I was referred to Dr. Gilmore by my GP. We had an initial consult, formed a plan and I was told to come back in 6 months. When we returned, she asked me why I was there, when my spouse started to say something, Dr. Gilmore ranted and berated and kicked them out of the office and asked me why I was there again. I left and relayed the info to my GP, who said she would never recommend her again. Now, over 4 years later, I've just gotten a text saying I'm due for an appointment. Horribly, horribly unprofessional practice and terrible excuse for a doctor.
I have never been to her office. But last week I was have dinner at Osman's Restaurant. And Dr Gilmore was dining there also. She proceeded to act like a complete jerk about everything. The service, food and drinks. I can only imagine what her behavior would be like alone in a doctor's office. This women throw a unreasonable fit. That I only have seen two year olds do. The food, service and drinks were all exceptional as always at Osman's. So the only conclusion I can come up with is. That must just be Dr. Gilmore's personality. Thanks for ruining an otherwise wonderful dining experience.
Dr Gilmore has worked with me in a way that feels like a team to create a plan for total wellness. She is helping me with hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, and more. She's a straight shooter and I'm happy to have found her!! The scale and lab results speak to how well her protocol is working for me.
Rushed and did not explain fully my condition. Did not listen as I tried to explain. Seemed irritated and uncaring. When I mentioned my sudden and unwarranted weigh gain her response was, “ I am not a weight loss doctor. What do want me to do? She has prescribed hormones for me about 2 yrs and I questioned maybe my balance had something to do with it. She was very irritated and said that I was where she wanted me to be. I will keep her but don’t feel comfortable seeing her except my yearly physical.
What kind of reputable Drs office asks you what you think your copay is than wants you to pay by card over the phone when they can't even see you for a month? Even though it's supposed to be same day appointments?
Rude and unprofessional after less than 3 months. Also, has alot of "conspiracy theories" that she pushes on patients... Do not recommend.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
