I was a new patient under him, and I have to say he was amazing to me. I knew I had messed up badly with my diabetes over the past few months. However, he told me not to be so hard on myself and put me on insulin for the first time. I'm following his instructions to the letter so far, and my blood sugar has gone down considerably. He took the time to listen to me and understood how I felt.I have seen some people have a not-so-good experience with him, but if you're willing to talk to him and listen to what he says and what to do, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended!

I want to share my experience at Dr. Burney's office. He is a awesome doctor always willing to go the extra mile. He listens to how you are feeling and always explains fulling what he knows will help you. Always ask how I am feeling. I cant express enough how happy I am with the professionalism. Thank you Dr. Burney and staff for all you do. So kind and patient and always going the extra mile.

Dr. Burney helped me get confidence in my T1D, with a pump, that I hadn't had in a while. Dr. Burney got me through my pregnancy with an amazing A1C and happy healthy baby! With him I have maintained a very good A1C. I highly recommend.

Dr. Burney is outstanding! I highly recommend him. I have been his patient for approximately 1.5 years. I have hyperthyroidism, also known as Graves Disease. When I was first diagnosed elsewhere, I was very anxious about the condition and apprehensive about American treatment options. Dr. Burney listens to his patients and truly researches and reviews various treatment options and advances in his field. Most importantly, he walked me through the condition and put my concerns at ease. I am happy to report that my condition is well controlled. He is, without doubt, one of the best doctor's in his field!

Dr. Burney is the Best Doctor. He truly cares about your wellbeing and the confidence you have in taking care of yourself with life altering diagnoses such as type 1 diabetes. He is always ahead of the curve with technology and treatments and makes sure he knows his patients well enough to set them up with what works best for them. He is kind, companionate, respectful, smart... everything you would wish for in a doctor!

Dr. Burney has been my doctor for type 1 diabetes and hypothyroidism for the last 3 years. I moved to Alabama from Atlanta and my PCP referred me to him. I have seen quite a few endocrinologist in the past as I have been a diabetic since I was 6 and he is by far the best and most competent endocrinologist I have seen. He always listens to me and helped me tremendously with my brittle diabetes during the pregnancy. I may not be the most compliant diabetic but with his help and the pump, I have been successful in keeping my A1C less than 7.

Dr.Burney has been my endocrinologist for 9 years. He researched my case & consulted witha surgeon at UAB who removed 2 parathyroid.Dr.Burney has continued to keep an eye on me, doing lab work each visit, explaining the lab results to me & giving me a copy of the lab results. He has always been respectful & kind.Dr. Burney has taken my concerns & thoughts into consideration as he planned my care. I’m thankful for his expertise & his gentle, personable forthright manner. Alabama’s loss is Texas’s gain.

Dr. Basil Burney has been my doctor for the last 9 years. It is rare to find a doctor who listens to you and explains the complex details of a rare disease. He has given me a better understanding of my disease and educated me on the importance of my medication as it pertained to my adrenal insufficiency. He has a caring and warm personality....one of the best doctors ever.

I have been a patient of Dr. Burney since he first opened his office in the Jackson (Hospital) Clinic. He is very knowledgeable and competent in his practice and I feel confident in his decisions and treatment recommendations. Throughout the course of my care with him, he has always presented as compassionate, understanding, and committed. No matter how busy he was, I never felt rushed during our appointments. He always readily answered questions, with as thorough an explanation as needed. Dr. Burney exemplifies all the qualities one looks for in a physician and I wholeheartedly recommend him.
